SCENARIO 2
Scenario
 Teaching Holiday traditions to 4th graders. There are 20
students 11 girls, and 9 boys. There are 2 Muslims, 3 Jewish
and 2 African American students.
A
 4th graders
 20 students : 11 girls, and 9 boys.
 2 Muslims, 3 Jewish and 2 African Americans
 Little prior knowledge of the diversity of other cultures other than their own
S
 Students will demonstrate knowledge in traditional holidays from both worldwide
cultures and American culture.
 The focus will be on Ramadan, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and Christmas.
S and U
 Students will engage by trying different foods from each holiday tradition,
through description of each holiday using pictures on a SMART board, and
demonstration of songs found on YouTube from each holiday.
R and E
 By the end of the week, students will describe what aspect from each holiday they
found most interesting and why in class discussion forum found on the instructor’s
blog with 90% accuracy.

  • 2. Scenario  Teaching Holiday traditions to 4th graders. There are 20 students 11 girls, and 9 boys. There are 2 Muslims, 3 Jewish and 2 African American students.

  • 4. S  Students will demonstrate knowledge in traditional holidays from both worldwide cultures and American culture.  The focus will be on Ramadan, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and Christmas.
  • 5. S and U  Students will engage by trying different foods from each holiday tradition, through description of each holiday using pictures on a SMART board, and demonstration of songs found on YouTube from each holiday.
  • 6. R and E  By the end of the week, students will describe what aspect from each holiday they found most interesting and why in class discussion forum found on the instructor’s blog with 90% accuracy.
