1. Assure Method Assignment
Cecil Diamond
A- 4th grade students, some of whom come from multicultural backgrounds. 2 of
which are Muslim, 3 are Jewish, and 2 are African American.20 total students.
Mostly females but only by slim majority of 11 to 9. Of these students, 8 are
Kinesthetic learners, 8 are Visual Learners, and 4 are Auditory Learners. Through
interviews with the students, I inferred that they all know how to read and interpret
language, so the following assignment is suited well to their previous knowledge
when entering this class.
S- Students will learn how to identify the various Holiday Traditions by reading
stories and performing activities pertaining to the following Holidays: Christmas,
Hanukkah, Ramadan, and Kwanza, along with watching short educational videos
from Youtube so that they may gain a deeper understanding of the vastly different
cultures from around the world, finally, they will also make posterboards
pertaining to a certain Holiday Tradition.
S- Students will demonstrate by the end of the week the ability to not only
identify, but thoroughly explain different Holiday Traditions, with a 100% degree
of accuracy.
U- Materials to be prepared will be, a Manger scene for Christmas, a manora for
Hanukkah, a Lantern for Ramadan, and a Kinara for Kwanzaa, computers and
2. projectors for the youtube video, and the various materials needed to assemble
posterboards.
R- Each day students will break up into 4 teams consisting of 5 students apiece.
They will examine the presented object pertaining to the holiday along with
reading about each holiday with presented reading material. Each day will also
consist of further elaboration of a holiday by instructor. During this time, the
groups will also be working on their poster boards pertaining to their particular
holiday.
E- Students will be evaluated by presenting a basic understanding of the Holiday
Traditions by demonstrating by object recognition during a quiz what the object
relates to in terms of the Holiday, and what that particular holiday is about, along
with their presentations of their posterboards.
