2. Logo to show recognise of the magazine – Is the same as the Masthead from Front Cover. Typography used is bold and capitalised even though the font is in military - possibly to show authority over the contents page (this page is most important to the magazine after the front cover) Colour; The Sub-headings are in bold but are quite discreet compared to the yellow headlines - these stick out more, possibly to show that the actual points covered are more interesting and the points you should be focusing on. The main image is very symmetrical and all the men are wearing harmonious colours and similar ‘cowboy’ hats – to suggest that they are a tight knit group but come in a diversity of sizes ( and personalities) – also the middle man is slightly in front of the rest to suggest power and leadership. This small section is an introduction to the double spread page . Gives reader extra information on what is the latest and most popular music (that belong to that genre of magazine) showing the charts. The Layout is symmetrical while the colour used is vibrant {almost colours of the rainbow} to grab readers attention – it also takes up the length on the page so is quite dominant. Much like the Masthead (Contents) the typography is in military font to also show dominance over the rest of the section. (MASTHEAD)
3. Instead of writing the magazine title they have wrote the internet address instead, this will appeal to the much younger generation of there audience. This has the brightest colour on the page, so stands out the most while it also has the biggest font/words used. Introduction to double page spread. Description of front cover and introduction to double page spread (main article) The images are small, so the writing is dominant on this page, the language is formal but basic . – ‘Rolling Stone’ has separated and made columns for different categories within the magazine e.g. ‘videos’ , ‘blogs’ etc. This makes it easier and more practical for the reade r to easily choose a section they're interested in. Much like the right handed side of this page, the contents have been segregated into categories , which are the beginning parts of the articles also – gives the reader choice and makes it more practical in choosing a page – typography shown with the font is more bold with writing in red and red lines separating...this part sticks out the most on the page, showing this is the part you should be looking at and taking notice of. The main image is suggesting no leadership and with equality and harmony based on there matching body language and similar dress styling.
