Editor's Notes
This is a stolen title but I though it isullstrated the point well
This has ben resonating for a number of years now.
Software and Hardware are advancing at a rate of knots, far faster than any of us would have seen even 5 years ago.
5 years ago the iPad had just launched… now look at the devices available
Why should it matter to me?
Cool quote… so what does that mean what does software actually do?
We know we need to innovate…
So what's your idea? What's your improvement?
What do you need to automate? Can you link some hardware together if it is manufacturing or can you automate something you currently do manually?
The great thing is it doesn’t have to be UNIQUE to be innovative. Sometimes what you need could simply be a link between 2 systems.
And there are so many systems out there that are great for SMEs with low capital expenditure and low commitment.
We know we need to innovate
We have our idea
But how to we cost / price it … should you cost it?
Do you trust that you supplier is always giving you the best price possible?
How can you asses if a system is worth while if you can’t assign even a notional value to it.
Work out ROI!
Ask the right Questions…
How long does it take to achieve the same thing right now?
How long does it take to train some one to do the same task?
How much does a manual mistake cost?
Is it measurable… Is it attainable
