I moved to Cape Town to resume position of regional credit manager, overseeing the collections for 7
hospitals, today collecting approximately R160m book per month, keeping days between 28 and 30
days.
Job functions:
- Managed staff of 12 people to recover debt, dealing with medical aids, insurances, private patients,
foreign insurers and the Workers’ Compensation Fund.
- set up and oversaw performance agreements with all staff.
- reviewed performance monthly and rating of staff, reviewing total debt book with credit controllers to
ascertain any weaknesses
- oversaw corporate governance for audit purposes!
- managed debtor risks, identifying problems and trends
- fed back to hospitals during their risk meetings and regular meetings with the Patient Services
Departments of each.
2016
Following centralization of the credit control function in the JHB head office, I accepted a retrenchment
package and exited the company.
