For my original idea for Mind is to show someone's day to day routine which will have dark
tone, to show how emotionless they are. It would show them sitting on their bed , on the
lesson , at lunch with friend , in another lesson , at dinner with a family and then on the
the same sitting position. On the second it will show them sitting on the bed then at the
but at the opposite side of the street a little girl is waving and smiling at them. Throughout
their body language changes, and they become more social . On the final day , it shows the
but in a brighter setting and being happier, the last scene would show them sitting on the
the end of the day holding a picture frame and look up to see the little girl again smiling,
an insert show of the picture frame which hold a picture of the little girl.
But due to time restraints and issues with filming equipment I had to adapt to another video
which would still engage the target audience but also to show how smiling can reduce
that why I decided to create a video which would involve a static close up of a women’s
flashing images of things which people smile about in order to show what simple things can
people happy. I was able to understand what made the target audience smile due to a
them fill out.

Why I chose this type of advert? Problems I have faced
I chose this idea for my video as it was a simplistic type of idea
which I would believe it would attract the target audience as it
would show simplistic images that can make them smile. The
type of advert will be able to have the same desired effect as
the original as it wouldn’t be long and it can contain the
attention of the target audience for much longer as the images
will suddenly appear and attract their attention.
Studies show that other people smiling can make you feel
more at ease and relaxed as it sends chemicals to the brain,
the smile can also show the target audience that a simple
smile over a simplistic feeling or object can make you happier
than you are.
During the beginning of film I face my challenges such
as time restraints and equipment malfunction this, due to
time constraint on the recording period I had to change
my idea so I would be able to produce a simple advert
for Smile. The equipment kept on malfunctioning such
as the camera having no charge in it, exposure begin to
dark or too light and the SD card not probably working.
For the new video idea I watched many short adverts for
mental health and during watching this videos I had to
idea to create a similar one as I found that it would be
able to hold the attention of the target audience and it is
also not as long so they wont get bored as easily as a
long advert.

This is the beginning of the video which shows a simple static close up
of a females face, I chose to have her not smiling in the beginning as it
shows that she is thinking of nothing good and has no reason to be
smiling.
This beginning shot is very important as it establishes who is the main
protagonist of the video and how she is feeling.
As the advert goes on it transitions to a simple photo of a mountain trail
, I did this by using a transiting effect. After the simple picture of the
mountain trail it transitions back to the female as she begins to have a
small smile to show how she likes the outdoors and how a simple thing
like nature can change her mood.
Again and again it transitions from the female to photographs of
climbing walls, food , swimming , dogs and cow any many other
photographs to show how simple things in life brings a smile to her
face.
In between each image is shown it transitions back to the static shot of
the female face where her smile begins to grow more and more. This
shows the audience how small things can easily change her mood into
a happier one.
