The leading Chief for the Navy Reserve incapacitation healthcare management department was responsible for the
propagation of over approximately 12,000 annual health care claims. Insured proper formatting and timely
submission of all incapacitation benefits compensation payments which averaged more than a million dollars
annually. Mentored direct report staff to new career heights, accruing 10 staff promotions in just 2 years for an 18
person staff.
Coordinated senior level management decisions involving program vision and strategy,
implementation of best practices, project improvement, legal compliance and oversight.
Directed the Navy Reserve’s Line of Duty Medical benefits program, delivering medical treatment and
lost wage compensation for the 64,000 personnel from 123 Navy Operational Support Centers, who were
injured in the line of duty while directly Managing the daily administrative workload
Provided written and oral training, via phone and teleconference, to more than 250 Medical staff in the
completion and filing Line of duty healthcare benefits packages for submission into the IDES system for
physical evaluation and retention purposes.

ACHIEVEMENTS:
Technical writing- Project Manager for two major policy revisions; one for the Secretary of the Navy
instruction 1770.3D(E) “Management and disposition of incapacitation and incapacitation benefits for
Members of the Navy and Marine Corps reserve components” and a second for the Department of
Defense instruction 1241.2 “Reserve Component incapacitation system”.
Trained more than 250 naval medical personnel and command staff at four separate conferences in two
years, in policy revision, and process improvement for completion and filing of Naval Reserve disability
and compensation benefits program paperwork.

While managing a staff of 12, Directed the completion of medical pre-deployment requirements for more than
7500 Navy reserve and active duty personnel deploying in support of the Global war on terror, meeting and
exceeding the strenuous medical and dental requirements for all personnel deploying to more than 10
different areas of operations around the globe. Taught Bystander intervention to the fleet to more than 200
personnel, Bystander intervention to the fleet is a peer-led training designed to prevent prevent destructive
behaviors and promote an environment of professionalism, respect, and trust.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Provide Pre-deployment and post-deployment medical briefings to all retuning Navy personnel from
Global war on terror deployments
Acting Senior enlisted leader providing direction and support to an enlisted staff of 32 personnel, and
mentorship to the more than 7500 naval personnel transiting the command on an annual basis.

achievements for all personnel.
Completed medical evaluations and post-deployment treatment plan implementation for 3200 Navy and
Marine Corps personnel in 9 days.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Trained and equipped 93 staff members in the completion of an arduous and multi-faceted joint Marine
Corps and Navy warfare device program.
Coordinated 4 military healthcare providers to provide post combat medical evaluations and
immunizations for over 3200 marines and Sailors, in a 4 day 8 hour a day evolution with zero loss in
mission capabilities, and 100% completion of all required medical treatment plans for implementation
upon return to the United States.
