LEADERSHIP & TRAINING
Led Marines in combat operations against insurgency forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Led highly-trained Marines in security operations at U.S. embassies abroad; supervised third country national
and local guard forces in the protection of embassy assets; mentored junior Department of State officers in
managing Marines and perimeter security. Coordinated security operations with foreign military and police
forces assigned to protect U.S. embassies.
Developed management strategies and processes, and provided guidance related to workforce training, planning,
recruitment, retention, employment, leadership, efficiency and employee evaluation and development. Delivered
training and education that provided the essential competencies to accelerate student learning at the Marine
Corps’ school for embassy guards. Led the instructor staff in supervising and evaluating activities and keeping
the school on schedule and in line with all Marine Corps and Department of State training and readiness
requirements.
Responsible for the training, organization, and tactical instruction to ensure combat readiness of over 9,000
personnel. Supervised complete revision of unit training and standard operating procedures that govern all unit
operations and the overall execution of training over 14,000 Marines annually.
Managed and directed extensive staff planning efforts for unit mission analysis and several procedural revisions.
Instrumental role in the development and implementation of new training initiatives; specifically, practical and
classroom training focused on skills required for deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Training included, but
was not limited to, close quarters combat, IED identification, convoy operations, sniper implementation,
apprehension control, and movements in an urban environment.
OPERATIONS & MANAGEMENT
Planned and supervised the activation of Marine security detachments at 20 embassies and consulates in various
worldwide locations. Coordinated the logistics and support for up to 3.5 million dollars of equipment for each
activation. Completed on site visits at each location to certify the security posture and make recommendations to
post executives, to include the embassy’s security officer and ambassador. Coordinated and supervised the follow
through of all required upgrades at the embassies involving security and quality of life of the Marines.

OPERATIONS & MANAGEMENT
Planned, coordinated and supervised several major combat operations that yielded positive tactical and
operational results in the Global War on Terror. Anticipated unique operational requirements and reconfigured
the organization and its basic equipment and material in order to overcome operational challenges in an austere
environment. Planned and executed the redeployment of 10,000 service members from overseas, including all
material and equipment.
ADMINISTRATION
Provided detailed reports on security, threat analysis, living conditions and overall supportability of Marines at
overseas posts that were used by senior Marine Corps and Department of State officials in making decisions and
plans for expanding the Marine embassy guard program in the post-Benghazi era.
Achieved Mission Capable ratings on every inspection while assigned to embassy security duty; provided reports
to higher headquarters concerning operational readiness and personnel accountability. Developed and
implemented budget estimates and plans for detachment operations that ranged up to $500,000.
Prepared contingency operations that included personnel administrative and medical screening, equipment
inspections and embarkation, recall procedures and rehearsals, and identification and storage of equipment.
Accounted for equipment and maintenance inventories valued over two million U.S. dollars.
