2. What are trailers
• Film trailers are a sequence of shots from the film chosen by the
Studio.
3. What are they made for
• They are made in order to attract viewers by
placing the best scenes from the film into a 2
minute sequence, however they do not what
to give to much away from these scenes so
they only make small shots.
4. Who are they for
• The trailers are for their target audience,
these are made to attract their target
audience and possibly attract people outside
their target by including mixed signals in the
trailer.
5. How do they work
• Film trailers work by putting the best clips
from the movie itself without giving out too
much, they try to raise more questions than
answered. Gradually this builds up hype from
the target audience and anyone outside of
this. Released before the film in order to
create some mystery for the viewers.
6. When do we see Film Trailers
• Film trailers are usually released a few weeks
or even months before the trailer, depending
on how much they want to hype it up and if
they want to give away much or not a lot.
They can be seen on national TV, social media
sites, before any other films.
