Our main production aimed to create a professional, gritty crime thriller set in an urban environment to entertain audiences. - 1. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text
- 2. Engage with audience • My product engages with audience through the use of intertitles and music. • The way that my intertitles cut from clip to title adds suspense, and drama to the clip seen as the audience become disorientated.
- 3. Engage with audience Music plays a big part in my movie opening, as it heightens the effect of tension and evokes fear within the audience. I feel the eerie sound that my music produces sets the scene and fits well with my movie. The alone creates slight fear within the audience good as it already sets the scene for when the clips of my actress unconscious plays.
- 4. How would it be distributed as a real media text • The importance of choosing the right distributor is key. • There are two types of distribution companies • Major (multi media conglomerates) • Independent distributors, self funded, and normally invest in more nichie films .
- 5. Major distributors • Major distributors are normally part of a multi media conglomerate that also produce films as well as distributes • High budget can create a multitude of ancillary marketing items (posters, billboards) • Major distributors will normally invest in safe products from their sister companies, a film that they know will sell, not art house films where the style is not popular in the industry or the actors unknown.
- 6. Indie distributors • Low budgets, will not be able to advertise as widely as majors • Will normally distribute nichie films that would not be picked up by majors art house films) • Will use the festival circuit for scouting's films
- 7. My task • To create an opening for a film i was inspired by such films split and Gothika both produced by major distributors, and have known actors in them. Split is starring James McAvoy, McAvoy has appeared in numerous movies as a lead role such as X-man (2011 2014 2016 2018) and the Chronicles of Narnia, the lion the witch and the wardrobe 2005 and many more. • Gothika is starring Halle Berry who has appeared in many movies as lead role for example cat woman 2004 and the call 2013
- 8. How will my film be distributed • My film has a • High budget • World wide known actors • Conventional filming style and genre • Therefore my film will definitely be dependently distributed as it will be regarded as “safe product” of a high quality in sister companies

My movie • My movie would have a high budget for filming as well as distribution, would be advertised through the media, such as radio stations, youtube, billboards with the poster and for the movie, it would be shown in world wide cinemas and would be available to download and by the CD once released
