What is the purpose of a procedure text?
To tell the readers how to do something
through a set of instructions or steps.

3. The generic srtucture of procedure text is
arranged like this:
GOAL

To tell the purpose of the activity
(how to make a cup of coffee, how to apply for a
job)
INGREDIENTS /
MATERIALS
(Bahan - bahan / Barang)
Mentions the materials used (for a recipe and for
how to make something)
RESOLUTION / STEPS
( Langkah – langkah )
Tells a set of instructions to achieve the goal

4. How can we write a procedure text?
You should use :
 Imperative sentences ( kalimat perintah )
e.g. : Cut the cucumber cross-wise
Don’t stir the gravy too fast
 Noun Phrase ( frasa kata benda )
e.g. : Chili
5 red chili
5 red chili, finely chopped
 Numerals to show measurement ( menggunakan angka
untuk ukuran )
e.g. : 1 ounce of flour
2 spoonful of cooking -oil

Dalam penulisan atau praktiknya teks prosedur
menggunakan tahapan atau langkah dengan kata – kata
seperti di bawah ini
