28. Common Questions
• Can VisionVault run on VMware or Virtual Server? Yes
• Can the server OS be Windows 2012 R2? Yes
• What MS-SQL server version does you software require? VisionVault is built on SQL Server 2014 SP1. It should work
as far back as 2008R2.
• If a license key is required how is this bound to the server? It is a software license that Integro ties to the CPU of the
PC.
• Is it possible for someone to disconnect a camera, and plug into their laptop to access the camera? Yes, but only if
you are an Emergency User. The user must have the Username and Password associated with their MS Active
Directory & CDS to login AND be connected to the server. The “Emergency User’’ would be the only one that could
disconnect from the network and access the camera via a direct connection.
• Where are changes logged and stored if someone can access the cameras, and the server is down? The camera
stores the Emergency User login and changes locally until the server connection is restored. Once restored, the
information is transferred to the database. Keep in mind the only user that can access a camera if the server is
disconnected or down is an Emergency User, and this is by design.
