variation and the expression patterns of genes.

DNA to RNA to protein

particularly genetics and biochemistry

3. DEFINITION
• Molecular biology is the branch of biology that
deals with nature of biological phenomena at
the molecular level through the study of DNA,
RNA, and protein and other molecules

• The term molecular biology was first used in
1945 by WILLIAM ASTBURY in study of
the chemical and physical structure of
biological macromolecules
• The root of molecular biology was established
in 1953 when FRANCIS CRICK and
JAMES WATSON working at medical
research council unit
