ICF Colorado Newsletter
September 2014
Message from Stephanie Wachman
President, ICF Colorado
I hope that you have all enjoyed an amazing
summer and are looking forward to joining us
once again at the September meeting.
Thank you to those members who were able to
join us at the joint networking event with
ATD-RMC and NSA-CO in August. It was a
huge success and many, many new
connections were made. As a matter of fact,
some ICF members told me that their
conversations with the members from other
chapters continued outside while the
restaurant was closing.
This month's speaker is Hilary Blair, and she will be speaking to us
about how we connect to others, and just how our message is
perceived both verbally and non-verbally. This presentation will give
you the tools to identify the parts of the communication equation
that are under your control, and allow you to make conscious
choices to be more authentic and clear. If you struggle with
presentation, this is a great opportunity to work on those skills.
If you are interested in seeing what is happening with coaching, the
2013 Annual ICF Report is now online. Visit their website to obtain
further information: http://coachfederation.org/
As I mentioned in last month's newsletter, we are very excited to be
the new Volunteer arm for Stand Beside Them. Stand Beside Them
supports returning veterans with coaching. The mission for us as
coaches is to help them get un-stuck and coach them through the
transition to civilian life and their next mission in life.

Topic: "Communication Chiropractic: Align
Your Voice with Your Message!"
*CCEUs: 1.5 in Core Competencies
Are you contradicting yourself? Is your body
sending a different message than your voice
and different still from the words
themselves? Explore and examine exactly
what you are "saying" from a totally new
perspective - that of a veteran
stage/voice-over actor and teacher and
then give yourself a little chiropractic
adjustment to embolden your step into the
message. The three areas, verbal, non-verbal, and message are
more easily received, and often more powerful, when all three are
saying the same thing. If not, we can be perceived as disconnected,
hiding something, or untrustworthy. This presentation and/or
workshop will give you the tools to identify the parts of the
communication equation that are under your control and allow you
to make conscious choices to be more authentic and clearer. Your
audience wants to listen, you have much to share, and now make it

While most leadership training is focused only on people in traditional leadership roles and isoften
related only to the professional setting, The Clarity of Purpose program takes a holisticapproach.
We view everyone as a potential leader. Humans are not silos and if we can improvein all areas of
our lives and tap into our personal power, then we are truly serving ourselves. If we are to make
better organizations, we must support better individual growth at all levels. Servant leadership
training, like the Clarity of Purpose program does just that.
The Clarity of Purpose program is aimed toward personal, long-term and sustainable results. We
bypass band-aid or quick-fix solutions in favor of working with participants to address rootpatterns
and behaviors that affect overall relationships. We will work with participants to elevate from Base
Camp to Summit.
Participants practice and build competence in the areas of: personal leadership, personal
accountability, integrity and teamwork by learning powerful personal methods to tune cognitive,
communication and behavioral habits for success.

ICF Colorado Newsletter September 2014

  • 1. ICF Colorado Newsletter September 2014 Message from Stephanie Wachman President, ICF Colorado I hope that you have all enjoyed an amazing summer and are looking forward to joining us once again at the September meeting. Thank you to those members who were able to join us at the joint networking event with ATD-RMC and NSA-CO in August. It was a huge success and many, many new connections were made. As a matter of fact, some ICF members told me that their conversations with the members from other chapters continued outside while the restaurant was closing. This month's speaker is Hilary Blair, and she will be speaking to us about how we connect to others, and just how our message is perceived both verbally and non-verbally. This presentation will give you the tools to identify the parts of the communication equation that are under your control, and allow you to make conscious choices to be more authentic and clear. If you struggle with presentation, this is a great opportunity to work on those skills. If you are interested in seeing what is happening with coaching, the 2013 Annual ICF Report is now online. Visit their website to obtain further information: http://coachfederation.org/ As I mentioned in last month's newsletter, we are very excited to be the new Volunteer arm for Stand Beside Them. Stand Beside Them supports returning veterans with coaching. The mission for us as coaches is to help them get un-stuck and coach them through the transition to civilian life and their next mission in life. IN THIS ISSUE: President's Message September 11, 2014: Next Monthly Meeting Special Interest Groups (SIGs) ICF CO Mentor Coaching Group Program: Registration ends September 15th September 18, 2014: Teleseminar "Clarity of Purpose" October 17, 2014: Fall Conference FEATURED ARTICLE: Final Say: Authenticity Membership General Meeting Information Sponsors of our Fall Conference
  • 2. Whether it is in seeking employment, starting a new business, going back to school, or trying something totally new that aligns with their skills and values, as coaches, we will be placed with veterans and their families to work with them. As a volunteer, the commitment is 12 hours over a period of 3 months. Complete the volunteer forms, and they will place you with a veteran in Colorado as they come. For more information you can visit their website: http://www.standbesidethem.org and select the Join Us Tab. There is also information on our website: http://www.icfcolorado.org /icf-co-community-outreach I will be out of town this month and won't make the monthly meeting. If you have any questions, our President Elect, Dinah Snow, will be available. I look forward to seeing everyone at the Fall Conference on October 17th. It's going to be an incredible day! All my best, Stephanie Stephanie Wachman President, ICF Colorado stephanie@coachinglib.com 720-232-3693 September 11, 2014: Next Monthly Meeting Date: September 11, 2014 Time: 6:00PM to 9:00PM Special Interest Groups (SIGs) conducted before the general meeting from 6:00 - 6:50pm. Location: PPA Event Center, 2105 Decatur Street, Denver, CO 80211 Speaker: Hilary Blair Topic: "Communication Chiropractic: Align Your Voice with Your Message!" *CCEUs: 1.5 in Core Competencies Are you contradicting yourself? Is your body sending a different message than your voice and different still from the words themselves? Explore and examine exactly what you are "saying" from a totally new perspective - that of a veteran stage/voice-over actor and teacher and then give yourself a little chiropractic adjustment to embolden your step into the message. The three areas, verbal, non-verbal, and message are more easily received, and often more powerful, when all three are saying the same thing. If not, we can be perceived as disconnected, hiding something, or untrustworthy. This presentation and/or workshop will give you the tools to identify the parts of the communication equation that are under your control and allow you to make conscious choices to be more authentic and clearer. Your audience wants to listen, you have much to share, and now make it A Cuppa Creative The Institute for Generative Leadership Aden Leadership Learn about being a sponsor for the Fall Conference. We view everyone as a potential leader. Humans are not silos and if we can improvein all areas of our lives and tap into our personal power, then we are truly serving ourselves. If we are to make better organizations, we must support better individual growth at all levels. Servant leadership training, like the Clarity of Purpose program does just that. The Clarity of Purpose program is aimed toward personal, long-term and sustainable results. We bypass band-aid or quick-fix solutions in favor of working with participants to address rootpatterns and behaviors that affect overall relationships. We will work with participants to elevate from Base Camp to Summit. Participants practice and build competence in the areas of: personal leadership, personal accountability, integrity and teamwork by learning powerful personal methods to tune cognitive, communication and behavioral habits for success.
