1. Question 6
What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. When starting my magazine production I was lucky to
have already owned Adobe Photoshop which I feel gave
me an advantage. I meant that I was already familiar
with the basic layout of Photoshop and also how the
layers worked. The layers in Photoshop were one very
important aspect for my magazine as it allowed me to
do the following…
This is only a couple of examples of where layers have
been very useful but they have helped to make my
magazine as professional as possible. I gained a huge

3. When I was taking the photos for my magazine I used my
experience from my photography lessons and also gained some
experience through my teacher. The camera I used was a
Canon 60D and to take the photo for my contents page
I turned all the lights off in the room and selected a 8 second
shutter speed. After starting the shutter I then grabbed my torch
and when it was turned on I slowly moved it up and down my
models body and guitar to give this impression of multiple
shadows and the gradual darkness on the edges of the photo.
When it came for me to take my picture for my front cover I lined
all five guitars up in a triangle and again turned all the lights off.
This photo isn’t as dark however as I decided to droop
Christmas tree lights all around the guitars. On thing I did do
different however is that I focussed on the nearest guitar to the
camera and by using my torch I shined the light right in the
middle of the front guitar. This outlines the main guitar and grabs
the readers eye.
Finally I came up to taking my picture for my double page
spread and my idea was to get a close up of the head of a guitar
and due to having the Canon 60D it made it very easy for my to
achieve my shot. I also used my torch on this photo as well to
add more light.
After taking these photos I then used my techniques I learnt
earlier on by using Photoshop to add the final touches to my
photos.
4. Blogger has been very useful as it has helped my
constantly update where I am with my work and has made
it easy for me to keep a track of my work electronically
from college and also from home.
As you can see below this is my blog and as you can see it
is very easy to view and edit any part of my coursework
needed. This has become very handy for when you
suddenly think of something which can be used for my
magazine.
Another reason
why blogger has
become useful is
due to the fact that
you can easily add
slideshows into
it, videos and
even photos.
