1. Mis-en-scene Note
The Tea Boy A film By Hamim Tak
The Mis-en-scene of my film is that the lighting
in the film is a mixture of low and high key
lighting. I used low-key lighting to portray the
scene to give out sad and emotional vibes. I
used high-key lighting to show happy moments
or flashbacks. The characters were wearing
casual clothes throughout the film. I used a
office location with high key lighting. I used a
dark alley with low lighting to portray night-
time and a room with low key lighting with not
much furniture or decorations to show
depression and sadness.
My characters wore different clothes for
different scene to show time lapse. I mostly
used mid-shots or long-shots with few close-
2. ups to show the significance of the scene and
drama.
The sound I used was mostly dramatic and the
sound would start with a low pitch increasing
towards high pitch gradually to show drama
and to gain the audience’s attention.
Since my movie is a romantic drama, I have
used slow editing. This slow paced editing helps
in maintaining a dramatic flow to the movie.
