Following any accident or incident it is important to
record all details relating to the situation. The
information contained in the accident book can often
help employers to indentify accident trends and
improve the general Health and Safety of the
workplace. These records may also be required for
insurance and investigative purposes. In 2003 a
new accident book was introduced to comply with
data protection legislation. It is designed so that any
individual recording an accident is unable to access
personal details of previous records.
