The document discusses some of the collateral damages of climate change, including the melting of icecaps and increasing heat waves. The melting icecaps are causing sea levels to rise, which threatens coastal cities and entire island countries. It is also disrupting habitats for polar animals. Rising temperatures have led to more frequent heat waves that have resulted in deaths from heat stroke in Europe and lack of water/food in other areas. Both humans and animals are suffering from the effects of climate change. The conclusion states that climate change poses risks to all life on Earth and greater awareness is needed to address its causes and mitigate further damages.
1. Collateral Damages of Climate Change.
We live in a planet which weather have been changing through the history,
becoming a topic of matter among humankind. It can be seen on news,
broadcasts, newspapers and other various media press. Moreover, many things
are said about this phenomenon as it is affecting not a single group of people, but
the whole living forms on Earth; therefore, there has to be a certain kind of concern
from us, in order to avoid these changes continue affecting our planet in so many
different ways. Besides, these changes happen gradually and in such a long
termthat people do not become aware of. But what we certainly know is that these
changes have negative consequences on our planet, such as the icecaps melting
and the increasing heat waves.
Firstly, there is the icecaps melting fact which is a serious consequence on
earth.Because of the U.V. rays which are trapped in the atmosphere, the heat
makes the icecaps in the poles and other glaciers around the world disappear by
melting. It is a disastrous matter for several reasons: e.g. there are many animal
species that depend on the glaciers to live in such as polar bear and penguins who
do not find a place to live anymore, and there is a long term consequences that
many would find that as an extreme one, however possible, as the disappearance
of cities that are under the lever of sea for the increase of water level, such as
islands and coast cities as New York, and complete countries. What’s more, it is
already seen, that in those coast cities, the excessive amount of melted water
cause flooding in homelands.
Furthermore, the increasing heat waves are affecting our
planet.Temperatures have increased its average in the last decades, and the rise
has been gradual to the point that people do not notice it, although it is a
remarkable increase if it is looked backwards. It is known by the news that many
people have died because heat waves, in Europe for example. They have died
ofheart attacks caused by high temperatures. And there are also other countries
2. that people die of dehydration and starvation because of lack of water and food in
their home.Apart of humans, also animals are victims of heat waves because they
do not adapt to these climate changes and they die of the same reason humans
do, turning this problem in a serious matter to be researched so it could be
intervened in the right form.
As a conclusion, climate change is a problem that involves human kind
itself. This has collateral damages that affect the whole environment, caused by the
hand of the people, such as the consequences presented previously on this essay.
It is important to take care of our own planet and what inhabits it since our well-being
is at risk. Therefore, climate change awareness must be spread in order to
stop these issues so we can live in anunharmed world, where people can inhabit in
harmony with their peers and also other species which live in the face of the Earth.
