3. The Weeknd
The three diamonds signify the three
different mixtapes that are in it: Thursday,
echoes of silence and house of balloons.
This is why the album is called trilogy. Everything is black and white which gives
it a basic and simple feel, this could be a
contrast to what’s inside as most of the
songs have a very deep meaning and
context.
The front cover of the album is a picture of him
with a girl behind him who has his hands all
over him, this is a representation of the songs
in the album as most of them are about
previous experiences with girls and also drugs.
This also applies to the back cover as his face is
very blurred, this could represent his experience
with drugs.
The CD stays consistent with the rest of
the album cover as it doesn’t have much
writing on it and is very simple.
The name of the artist and the name of
the album are contrasting colours to the
rest of the album cover, this makes it
stand out and attracts the reader

4. The 1975
All very basic with black as
the main colour with a
white glowing neon light.
This draws attention to the
main title of the artist as
the colours are contrasting.
Title of their name is very big
and bold, this draws attention
to it and makes it the main
focus of the album cover.List of all the songs in the
album.

5. Rhianna
Strong colour of red
on her lips and hair
represents love and
relates to the sexual
desire and male gaze
that is associated
with Rhianna.
Seductive look attracts
male gaze but also
relates to her genre of
music which is often
romantic and sexual.

Large image of the
artist to draw
attention to the
album as she is
very well known
and people will
recognise her from
far away.

6. Ed Sheeran
Image of the artists face very big
and up close to bring attention
to him. No writing means that all
the focus is on him, this could
suggest that he is famous
enough to be recognised purely
from his image.
Name/ logo of the
album in large bold
writing on the top of
the CD, this makes it
stand out.
List of songs on the
back in the middle of
the cover, this makes
them stand out and
easier to read.

The whole digipak is
a bright orange
colour which makes
it stand out amongst
other albums and
allows it to catch the

Image of all the people in

hierarchy, the main singer
is at the front to show his
important.

that the audience can
associate the band.
