Initiatives
Piloted a letter to clients which is to “soft sell” during the claim rather than after the
settlement. The initiative was extended to the Assessors who achieved a 16% success
rate in the first month of trials. The idea was not just to increase sales through claims but
to also project a “Caring Image” of the Company
Introduced rostered ‘quiet time’ for staff. Each staff had one hour off the phones each
day which resulted in a massive improvement of workloads and reduced backlogs of
claims waiting to be settled.
Designed more friendly letters, which received good feedback from the Centre
Manager, and the other claims centres, but was met with reluctance from the Marketing
people.
Designed a paperless claims handling system using Lotus Notes system. This was a
front line system which dispensed with claim forms and enabled a claim to be handled
from the first phone call and in many cases settled the same day.
