Senior Transport Coordinator – Promoted with effect from 3rd
January 2012. This was the result
of internal reorganisation where the Planning and Customer Service roles were merged, and also I was
given a First Line Management role with 6 direct reports. The position entails all of the duties of the
Planner position, with the added responsibility of now dealing with Customer Service duties – liasing
direct with Sales personnel, customers directly etc. For my direct reports I complete regular 1 to 1’s
and annual PDR’s, manage annual leave, complete return to works interviews after sickness periods and
generally deal with any issues as they arise. I am also a point of contact when sales need to escalate
any issues that they have with any of the other Transport Coordiniators. I am constantly multi-tasking
and the environment is a fast paced atmosphere where I need to be a very quick thinker.
Transport Planner – 5th
January 2009 – 3rd
January 2012 – I moved to this company as I was ready
to move on from my role at Kuehne + Nagel, and felt I needed to take my skills to the next step. The
Transport Planner role was an ideal opportunity to use the skills I had developed and implement them
into new projects. Daily duties involved planning of workload to driver and vehicles, ensuring costs were
kept to a minimum whilst ensuring customer needs were met. Daily communication with drivers and
customers, dealing with last minute transport requests from sales, and resolving problems as they
arose.

Transport Planning Assistant – I was employed by the above company within the busy Planning
Department. I moved into this role as I felt ready for a new challenge and saw this as an opportunity
to learn new skills. This position allowed me to learn alot about transport, look after my own customers
using a range of sub contractors and our own vehicles / drivers. I had to deal with customers directly,

manage drivers and hauliers, work under pressure and ensure deadlines were met. I also had a range of
statistical reports to maintain and was involved in a number of meetings with the customer where the
company was looking to implement new systems of work.

Planning Assistant – This was a newly created position as a result of company acquisitions and a brand
new project. I became more involved with Orders of stock and communicating with vendors, attending
various meetings relating to the launch of a new product (Eastpak Apparel). I also continued to carry
out the duties of my previous role as my successor was still training in order to take over these tasks
(outlined below – Operations Assistant).

Operations Assistant – The main responsibilities within the description for this role were to create
and maintain various statistical reports for Sales Agents, Management, and other levels of internal &
external personnel. Examples of these reports were a Daily Status Report which showed how particular
areas of the business were performing compared to financial plans, and a Monthly Trend Report
showing variance of product performance versus prior years and months. In addition to the above I
was also carrying out other tasks which included; Creating and maintaining orderforms and pricelists,
maintaining and distributing forecast tools which were used to determine purchase quantities of
various products. I also had involvement with the creation and maintenance of customer accounts and
was involved with management of the orderbook.
• 4th
September 2000 – 1st
January 2002
Data Administrator – This was the first position I held at the company, and although this was a basic
role in comparison to positions I later held, it allowed me to develop the skills to progress to
Operations Assistant, and then onto Planning Assistant. The responsibilities were to maintain a number
of reports, but these were more basic than what they later became. I also helped with general
Administrative Duties within our department.
Skills
 Management / Team Leading Skills – In my current position I am becoming increasingly
competent as a First Line Manager. I am fortunate that the team I am involved in generally
perform well un-supervised but I have to deal with any problems as they arise. I have carried
out regular 1 to 1’s (on a 3 monthly basis) and annual PDR’s for my direct reports. I have to
manage the holiday tracker to ensure Annual Leave is booked appropriately and ensure cover is
available when people are looking to take holidays. I have attended an internal Training Course
to aid my management skills with this employer, and also previously with Keuhne + Nagel
attended a similar course, both have helped me develop my skills further.
 Knowledge of Driver regulations & Legislation – In my current role I am working
predominantly with sub-contract hauliers rather than employed drivers. But I still, as part of
this, need to have a detailed understanding of what hours they work and plan work around their
start times and take breaks etc into account.

Curriculum Vitae – Andrew Fletcher
 Excellent communication skills – My Communication skills have always been one of my best
assets in the workplace. Throughout all of the different positions I have held in my working
life communication has always been vital to ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest
standard possible. I have always managed to build good working relationships with customers
and suppliers, and have always been able to communicate effectively with people at all levels. I
feel I always go the extra step with customers to ensure they are as well informed as possible
when I am dealing with them directly.
 Excellent Geographical Skills & Knowledge –I have always had a good knowledge of UK
Geography, but this has improved further with the positions I have held with both TDG /
Norbert Dentressangle / XPO and Kuehne + Nagel. I now am able to utilise my own knowledge
when planning routes for vehicles and planning a drivers day, but also can use the systems we
have quickly and effectively for any locations I am not 100% familiar with.
 Excellent IT Skills – I have always been interested in the use of IT and have taught myself to
use programs such as Word, Excel and Access to a high level. I have attended external courses
for Excel and Access, and used to provide training to other employees at VF Northern Europe
for some of their systems. I consider myself to be a quick learner in this area and can adapt to
any system I am introduced to.
 Excellent Numerical Ability and Analytical skills – In all of the positions I have held to date I
have always worked with numerical data, had to analyse this information and also present
statistics in the form of reports. These reports have either been used by myself in
presentations, or I have had to tailor them to suit other people’s requirements so they can
present the data to a group of people. In the 3PL and 4PL planning environment I am able to
use my skills in this area to compare cost options for different hauliers, and also to maintain
the Core vehicle sheets and ensure that they are meeting the set costs for these vehicles as
closely as possible.
 Good Problem Solving & Fact-Finding Skills – In my current role on a daily basis there are
problems to solve and I have to rely on the skills I have developed to make the correct
decisions. When there are problems with deliveries or vehicle breakdowns I have to look for
solutions to these issues to ensure the customer is still happy with the service they receive.
During my time with Kuehne + Nagel Ltd, I was heavily involved with trying to provide an
improved service to different parties. This involved keeping a log of all problems, finding the
root cause of the problem, and suggesting ways of improving service to our customers. My
Fact-Finding skills were also developed during my time at VF Northern Europe when creating
statistical reports for a number of different users.
 Time Management and Organisation – I am very good at organising my workload, and managing
my time so that all tasks are completed within a given time period. On a daily basis I am always
aware of all tasks that need to be completed and am able to prioritise as required. I maintain a
To Do List, and as additional requests come in my direction I can prioritise the order in which
everything is completed. I am also able to organise people around me to ensure that tasks are
evenly allocated between the team I currently work with, and ensure that peoples skills,
attributes and experience is taken into account before deciding who needs to focus on what
task. I consider myself to be a very punctual person, and have a flexible approach with working
hours. I will always ensure everything is up to date at the end of the working day, and will work
beyond the standard working day where required. I always have my company mobile phone with
me, and frequently take calls from drivers or customers outside or working hours and dela with
any issues as they arrise.

 Others relevant skills – I am able to maintain a professional manner with customers during
even the busiest periods. I am able to work equally well as part of a team, delegating tasks if
required or as an individual. I am able to recognise my own shortfalls, and if I identify an area
where I feel my knowledge is below the required level I will look to improve in that area. I am
able to work to tight deadlines, and also where targets are set I will do all I can to work
towards achieving them.
Interests
I enjoy watching and taking part in sporting activities such as Football, Squash, Golf and Snooker. I
enjoy socialising with both my wife and our friends, and more recently have been enjoying my parental
duties with our son, currently aged 4 years.
