Working Title:
My magazine is called ‘MODE’ magazine, I chose this because it means fashion in French and the
alliteration of ‘MODE Magazine’ works
Audience:
My audience is ranged from 16 – 45, this is because the magazine features many different aged
people, and discusses interests that people may or may not like. For example one of the pages is
someone who is 16, and they discuss about how social media influences their choices on what to
wear however the cover is going to be someone in their late 40s discussing how fashion has
changed over their time. The audience will probably be interested in fashion and how the media
influences things we didn’t think it would This magazine will also talk about the effects fashion has
on climate change which is a very current issue at the moment so this will attract another group of
people, so this magazine appeals to many groups of people as I believe it is important to be
inclusive hence why I am having many different ages in my magazine
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I understand Photoshop quite clearly but not too sure on InDesign however I have started using it
and I have started understanding more about how to use it, I think for my final product I am most
likely to be using Photoshop more because I understand more about it and I think I will be able to
create a better final product using Photoshop. However for the double page spread I will give
InDesign a go as when creating an experiment for it I managed to create something that I like and I
think if I got to know InDesign a bit better it would create a good outcome for the final product
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept for my project is a fashion magazine that discusses real life issues such as climate
change and social media and the effects it has on society. However whilst doing this I want to
portray how fashion changes through different generations and I will do this by interviewing
different aged people ranging from their ages will be 15, 25 and 50 and by talking to these people
it will be interesting to see what inspires their fashion. The cover of the magazine will be simple
and not too busy, as I want it to look minimalistic. There will be someone on the front of the
magazine with questions around them and the title at the top of the cover. The double page spread
will have an image taking up one of the pages then an article on the other, the article will be
related to the person on the cover as they talk about how the media influences them additionally
they will talk about their view on other fashion magazines such as ELLE and VOGUE. The other
double page spread will be about fashion and climate change and how its affecting or contributing
to global warming, on this page I will include multiple facts and statistics to back up some of the
points I am making. The purpose of this magazine overall is to include people in the magazine that
are ‘overlooked’ in the fashion industry and discuss with them what it is all about. I need to
research more what effects fashion has on climate change and research more into social media
and the influences it has whether they are good or bad
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
When evaluating my work I will look at what I could have improved and what I did well, I will also
look at how well I used Photoshop or InDesign and see whether or not I used it correctly or I
should have used different software. This will help when I continue on this course as it will give me
a chance to see which software I’m better using or what I need to improve with planning and
research wise
