Working Title: The Art of Sculpting.
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience: This magazine will be made available to primarily 25+ male and female middle -
class magazine readers, who have an unwavering passion for such a mammoth as well as
meticulous process. However, I also plan to make it available to people of all ages (save for
toddlers, who may not have any concept of such an art) as well as working class people .
I strongly believe that this magazine will appeal to all classes of audience as it will allow
those in the middle class as well asthe working class spectrum a means of escapism from
their troubles beset them in their lives while simultaneously motivating them to further
demonstrate their sculpting capabilities they may have had from an early age, but failed to
notice. Additionally, men and women who already have aspirations to sculptors may see
sculptors past such as Barbara Hepworth as something of a role model and this may, too,
influence their decisions.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words): Having previously created another magazine in Photoshop, I
have learnt how to alter a picture so that it will easily fit the dimensions of a Photoshop
document I am using, thereby making it suitable for use in some capacity. If necessary, I
will also crop it in order to get rid of something superfluous, such as an apple perched on
the raft. I have also learnt that it is considerably easier to think up a magazine concept by
seeking out an image, followed by an appropriate title pertaining to the subject, which can
often vary depending on the choice of picture.
Review your progress throughout the year- what video game and Photoshop skills and knowledge
have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words): I am planning to create a magazine based around the
profession of sculpting, with the intention of exploring in full detail how influential the
practice has become within the plastic arts and also how prominent artists such as Barbara
Hepworth, Henry Moore and Anthony Gormley, to name but a few exampleshave brought
the profession into the modern world for a whole new audience to observe. In order to write
such a complex two-page article, however, I will need to research their work thoroughly and
uncover a few other sculptures they have created in addition to the ones I already know,
thereby allowing a fresh perspective into each of their varying approaches to the
profession. To bring this point across in my piece, I hope to include quotes from at least
one or two of the aforementioned artists which reveal their views and opinions on art in
general before going on to write how I believe this has influenced their working style. As no
one else seems to have floated the idea of creating a magazine based around both
sculptures and their creators, this has given me the creative freedom to explore the world
these people have inhabited freely and happily.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/

Evaluation (approx. 50 words): I plan to evaluate my final product by first reflecting upon
how I created my work, which software I used to create it and what I could have done with
more time. I will then analyse certain other aspects in a similar approach, such as
similarities and differences with other work, before submitting both my finished product
and accompanying work thereof to my blog.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
