1. 1. Q- In what ways does your media product use, develop, or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
A- My media product has used current existing products to gain inspiration and guidance for my product. My product has also developed from
current products by taking advantage of layouts and taking visual tips from sixth from magazines. Some examples of this would be that I
challenged the whole magazine front cover page this is because I have changed the whole entire layout of the cover page to make it different
from any other Sixth Form Magazine designed. By doing this t has made it unique to the school, Nicholas Chamberlaine School.
2. Q- How does your media product represent particular social groups?
A- My product will represent particular social groups by adding in articles, which relate to everybody in sixth form. However my main article in
this magazine would be about how different people enjoy sixth form so it will be aimed at everybody not just certain social group’s within the
sixth from community. However if more issues where to be created and released each one will have a different topic to focus around so
everybody can read and relate to at least one topic spoken about in the magazine as a whole.
3. Q- what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A- The type of media institution that will distribute my Sixth Form Magazine Product would be me the designer of the magazine. Therefore I will
be the person who decides what information that will be included on and in the magazine. I will then distribute the magazine to the Sixth Form
Centre so the current students can read it.
4. Q- who would be the audience for your media product?
A-My main target audience for my Sixth Form magazine product would be the current year 12's and 13's due to the main aspect of the
magazine and the content. However it will also be aimed at year 11's that might be thinking of going into year 12, and helping them make that
important decision with interviews from current students and also the head boy, with their own take on Sixth Form life.
5. Q- How did you attract/address your audience?
A- The way I attracted my audience was by adding articles, which would interest them, to read and also by using pictures and interviewees of
people they know. The way which I addressed my audience was by using the word "You" in the contents of "Join the best Sixth Form for you". By
doing this is will make them think the magazine is aiming at them and made for them to read. Some examples of this are getting feedback from
my teacher saying what needed to be improved within my cover page and content page. To make my magazine appropriate for my audience I
changed the font to a more modern font, however I kept the same colors of the school that are a deep red/maroon.
6. Q- what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
A- The technologies I have learnt from constructing this project is by using the Software Photoshop to create the main page of the magazine and
the content page for the magazine. I have also learnt how to use different websites to present my work on for example Penzu to present all my
written work onto, by doing this it has made my written work more visually appealing to read because it is presented on a different software
than just Microsoft Word. However in Photoshop I used tools that I have not used before they are: Blur Tool to make the edges of the photos
smoother, The colour sample tool which takes a sample of the colour I have already used before I wanted to use again for something else.
