2. In what ways does your music magazine use, develop
or challenge forms and conventions of real music
magazines
• My magazine follows the conventions using
the same feature artist on the front cover on
all the contents and DPS as well. I made a
possible cut out with no interference and
changed the I followed the conventions and
mixed and match ideas that I had seen
between pages but followed the main
conventions and used the uses of gratification
theory. As they do
3. How does your music magazine
represent particular social groups?
• My music magazine represents urban youth as there main
role models and aspiration are music artist and are inspired
by materialist things and urban music has a dominant black
back ground and the model is from the background so uses
of gratification they have personal relation and identity.
The magazine also represent younger generations by
incorporating there main interest but have web based
content such as YouTube and other social media in which
they can interact with with web.2 media.
• It has fasion section and behind the scenes content to
inspire people to get involved and how music preduction is
done as all the reader have acces to the internet and
making music is a common past time.
4. What kind of media institution might
distribute your music magazine and
why
• As I said in my research I would want a
mainstream company such as IPC or Beur as they
have great port folios and are some of the
biggest brands of magazine in the uk. There
magazine are on the shelves in major shops and
have the technology to have websites and apps
which my audience are dominant users of
technology and from other research is ever
growing segment of the industry and physical
copies of magazine have been decreasing since
2010.
5. Who would be the audience for your
music magazine?
• The audience for my music magazine would be 15- 25
as after my research I said 17 but I though t I would
decrease it as younger audience will be interested and
they will grow with the magazine and be the audience
of the future but being able to be with an older
audience. My audience will be urban residents as this
is the target market for urban music. But people that
aren't for surveillance purposes they will be more
female is female buy more magazine then males but
appeal to men as well so images will appeal to both
sexes. They will be YouTube and internet and social
media users as it is the biggest growing market.
6. How did you attract/address your
audience?
• I attract my audience by using language that
they use and abbreviation and included there
interests and brand that they endorse. I
include competitions and web.2 social
networking sites to expand the brand and
interactive content such as the interview
online. Also using images with wealth and eye
contact they the males want to be like and are
attractive to the women.
7. What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
• I have learnt that it is quit hard to get the desired affect
that you want and it takes constant tweaking of
elements, and there are many different ways to do the
same get same result. Such as with my front DPS I used the
liquefy bloat tool to increase muscle size and definition
and adding in high light on top of the image and changing
the transparency of to make it look as natural as possible.
• Also with InDesign having the right coloured is hard to
achieve you have to make it using the different colours and
mixing. And the overall time of the presses is long but after
experiment you begin to make become easier to use.
• I would of found it easier to use a pen pad to draw what I
want rather than the mouse as computer are very
temperamental.
8. 7- Looking back at your preliminary task, what
do you feel you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?
In Heinz site I can say I've learnt time management
is key to success as unlike the preliminary task I was
editing picture which took longer than expected
and was pushed for time towards the end but I
developed a greater understanding of the software
used. I learnt more about the convention of music
magazine and those that are similar to those of
college magazine and how strong advertising is in
magazine industry and is how they make most of
their money and the important it is to appeal to a
wide audience to attract advertisers
