2. Genre conventions I have used all the conventions that most Japanese music magazines use such as having a big title at the top of the page, having a slogan just under the title and the issue number on the side of the title. One more example is the bands on the cover, all music magazines will have a band or several bands on the cover this is the main way people identify them as music magazines the bands will be standing in a group with or with out their instruments this is so people will recognise them as a band, there will always be the bands names on the page near the pictures so people know what band it is.
3. Uses of music I have made a Japanese rock band with one person that looks like they are from a rock band and one person that looks like they are from a pop band this is so more people will be attracted to the band because it has the feel of both so people that don’t like rock bands may like them because there is some one that look like they are from a pop band the music they like. This is unlike what other magazines will use they will normally use bands that are focused more to one genre to attract one social group.
4. The unique selling point The unique selling point of my magazine is that there is not a Japanese music magazine on sale in shops in England so I will have 100% of the target audience because people will have to buy other Japanese music magazines online they will have to wait several day for it to arrive but people will be able to buy mine from the shops so they will get it as soon as they buy it and they will not have to subscribe to my magazine to get it so they can just but it when they want to.
5. Language to the audience I have used the language that is more suited to teenagers that like rock and Japanese rock because they are my target audience, I have use a laid back way of speaking because it would not attract a lot of teenagers if I used a more posh way of speaking and if I used slang language it would not appeal to my intended audience This is a section from my double page spread see how I used words like “cruising” and “living it up” words like these are aimed at my target audience.
