• CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is the recognition that you have
responsibilities to society
• Meet societal needs and expectations
• Be environmentally conscious
• Take care of your stakeholders
STAKEHOLDERS
• Anyone involved in the decisions and actions of your business:
• Investors, partners, etc.
• Employees, employee families, etc.
• Consumers, community, etc.
TAKING CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES
• Providing excellent pay and benefits
• Providing a safe and positive environment
• Offer flexibility to assist with non-work things like family and religion
• Show that you are there for them as much as they are for you
TAKING CARE OF THE CONSUMER
• Use honest and conscious marketing
• Listen to consumer needs and desires
• Always right your wrongs
OTHER STAKEHOLDERS
• Ethics are not law, but you should always obey the law
• Act according to shareholder requirements
• Minimize effect on the environment, or
• Conduct positive actions such as positive environmental actions, charities,
donations, etc.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO BE ETHICAL
Listed here are just a few ways to be ethical and responsible. There are so many
ways to take care of your business and employees, your consumers, and your
community. Many businesses create their own unique ways to achieve these things,
and the possibilities are seemingly endless and business and society continue to
evolve.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT
In addition to obviously just being a positive and holistic path to follow in order to
improve your community and culture, these actions, even when seemingly costly or
difficult, are like an investment. When you put so much care and effort into your
community, you will see the positive return of loyalty, favorability, and improved
performance overall.
