Villagers protest against Oil company’s waste

mer district are staging a
protest to save the land
fertility in the region
which is getting damaged
due to the hazardous
chemicals and contami-
nated waste mud which is
being released by the oil
company, working in the
area. Villagers claimed
that they have been fac-
ing the situation for the
past four-five years but
with each passing day it
is constantly increasing
and at present the situa-
tion is that hazardous
chemicals have started
polluting the irrigation
water.
Villagers said that the
company discharged the
contaminated waste mud
containing hazardous
chemicals into the land
by pressure pump ma-
chines inside the waste
pits located near the oil
wells. Due to this, the ir-
rigation water from tube
wells is getting spoiled
which further is not only
affecting the land fertility
but also damaging the
ready crops. Locals from
more than a dozen villag-
ers have been staging a
protest for the past one
week and now they have
announced that if their is-
sue has not been ad-
dressed, they will inten-
sify their protest and cre-
ate hurdles in the com-
pany operations.

that many times they ap-
proached the Cairn Oil
and Gas company offi-
cials and requested them
to take note. Choudhary
said that whenever they
met the authorities, they

A labourer died after
getting buried in a
pit in Jaipur while
he was digging it. Fellow
labourers took out his body.
The father of the deceased
has registered a case of
death due to negligence
against the contractor.
Police said that Atar Singh
(25), a resident of Shivpuri,
Madhya Pradesh, worked
as a labourer in Jaipur. On
July 26, he was working in
Hanuman Nagar. Singh was
digging when soil above
collapsed and he got bur-
ied. After about 15 minutes,
he was pulled out. He was
rushed to a hospital where
doctors declared him dead.
In Bikaner, 19-year-
old boy, identified
as Sandeep Khileri
got washed away when he
went to see the rain water.
After about half an hour’s
struggle, he was taken out.
By then he had died. When
his sister Rekha Khileri (22)
got news of her brother’s
death, she herself jumped
into a ditch and died. On
Saturday afternoon, Sand-
eep from Bajju had gone
to see Barsati river with his
friends. Onlookers at the
accident site told that from
where Sandeep was stand-
ing, a part of soil washed
away taking him along.
Seven members of a family got injured after
their house collapsed in Bhatta Basti in Jaipur
following heavy rains. After getting informa-
tion, Civil Defence in-charge Amit Sharma and his
team arrived. Meanwhile, nearly 30 houses collapsed
in various areas of Bikaner due to incessant rains. In
Bajju, the boundary wall of a water body in Gandhi
village was also broken. No casualties were reported.
A 14-year-old boy died due to drowning in
Kothari river of Delas village in Bhilwara. The
water was about two feet high. Vishnu died
due to drowning in water after he slipped into the
river while crossing the culvert. Villagers informed
Kareda police about the accident. The deceased was
a resident of Delas village. Several incidents of mis-
hap are being reported following heavy rain in region.

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in Kota’s Gumanpura
Kota: A special court in Jhalawar has sentenced five
persons, including three brothers, to life imprisonment
for murdering a man five years ago. Special judge Ghan-
shyam Sharma also slapped a fine of Rs
10,000 on each of the five convicts,
Kanhiram, Rajaram, Sujan Singh, Gyan
Singh and Bhagwan Singh. According to
the prosecution, Sultan Singh, died in an
accident while travelling with his family.
A FSL report, call recordings and mobile locations helped
unearth a planned conspiracy to murder Sultan Singh.
Kota: An ADJ court in Kota has ordered an investiga-
tion against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in a case of
duping. The Additional Sessions Court No. 1 allowed the
petition filed by one Neeraj Tiwari and directed Gumanpura
Police Station SHO to register a case and investigate the
matter. Petitioner’s advocate Lokesh Saini informed that
the complainant filed a complaint of duping against Yoga
Guru Baba Ram Dev on July 9, 2020, in ACJM – 5 as well.

killed an 80-year-old
with an axe in the Bheru
Gate area of Kekri. Po-
lice have arrested the ac-
cused youth. According
to information, Harlal
Regar was going to a
temple on Saturday when
Ramavatar Regar at-
tacked him with an axe in
his neck. After the old
man fell down, the ac-
cused again attacked him
with the axe. The man
died on the spot.
The accused then fled
the spot. Soon, a huge
crowd gathered. On get-
ting info, police reached
the spot and arrested the
accused from the roof of
the Ramdev temple.

upgrade Udaipur’s Badgaon Community Health
Center to Satellite Hospital. Along with this, approval
has also been given to increase the number of beds in the

infrastructure will be strengthened and better medical facilities
will be available to the common people at the local level.

embers of the Opposition grouping I.N.D.I.A
must be apprehensively watching every
move of Sharad Pawar who is expected to
share the dais with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in
Pune on August 1, the 103rd death anniversary of
Lokmanya Tilak. The award will be conferred on
Modi for awakening the feeling of patriotism among
Indians. If Pawar confers the honour, the setback to
I.N.D.I.Awould be huge. The grouping is totally un-
prepared for that. Nobody can read the wily Maratha
leader’s mind.
Pawar himself is quiet on whether he will attend
the function as chief guest. Sharad Pawar also held
his cards close to his chest after his nephew Ajit Pa-
war and NCPMPPraful Patel met him and urged him
to join the group to support the BJP. This is why the
Opposition grouping fears a shock blow from the
Maratha strongman.
Even if Pawar does not agree to support the BJP,
conferring the honour on Modi would be enough to
demoralise the Opposition.

stani companies to set up the oil refinery
project at Gwadar, a strategic deep sea port.
Saudi oil giant Aramco will execute the Greenfield
project in which the Saudis will invest $10 billion.
The project is located in the troubled Balochistan
province of Pakistan where security has been a major
issue even for the Chinese workers.Aramco will pro-
vide 30 percent of the equity with the Pakistani com-
panies putting in the remaining 70 percent.
The deal is being seen as a boost to economic and
strategic relations between the two countries and a
boon for Pakistan
which has been going
through an unprece-
dented economic cri-
sis. Pakistan’s credi-
bility due to financial
mismanagement had
fallen so low that last
year Saudis are learnt
to have refused to
give interest-free
loan to Islamabad.
Saudis were also re-
portedly reluctant to
enter into an agree-
ment for Gwadar port
with the Tehreek-e-
Insaaf Party govern-
ment of Imran Khan.
What has weighed in
favour of Pakistan is
that both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has allowed
the army chief SyedAsim Munir the space which was
not there during Imran Khan’s tenure.
So far the Saudi-Pakistan ties have failed to harm
the bilateral relations between India and SaudiArabia
and India and the United Arab Emirates. This was
evident from the silent support the two countries ex-
tended after Article 370 was scrapped to alter the
status of JK. So much so, Pakistan was forced to
toe the Saudi line and withdraw from the parallel OIC
which Malaysia and Turkey had considered forming.

Special Judge Shailender Malik dismissed the applications of
accused Mohd Ilias, Mohd Perwez Ahmed and Abdul Muqeet,
seeking default bail in the money-laundering case.
Bahraich: A local court sentenced five men to life term in
an eight-year-old murder case, a court official said on
Saturday. ASJ (4th) Anand Shukla announced the verdict on
Friday in the murder that took place in 2015 in Visheshwarganj
area, Govt Advocate (Criminal) Munnu Lal Mishra said.

75 PER CENT RISE IN TIGER POPULATION
Patna: The Valmiki Tiger Reserve, the only
national park in Bihar's West Champaran dis-
trict, has recorded a 75 per cent increase in
tiger count from 31 in 2018 to 54 in 2022. Enthused
by the sharp increase of tiger population, the Bihar
govt has initiated the process of developing Kaimur
Wildlife Sanctuary' measuring 1,504 sqkm into
another tiger reserve or tiger-bearing landscape' in
the state. Bandana Preyashi, Secretary, Forest Dept,
said, “As per report 'Status of Tigers: Co-predators
Prey in India-2022', released by the National Tiger
Conservation Authority and Wildlife Institute of India,
the VTR has recorded a 75 per cent rise in tiger
numbers from 31 in 2018 to 54 in 2022.”

Cuddalore: Four people died after the car in which

joint director-rank officers posted in Ministry of Corpo-
rate Affairs and an associate of Alok Industries, for an alleged

in its name, calling the bylaws of the center a fraud.

House Court in Delhi and the court, considering all
these three groups as disputed, has barred them
from work. Seeing this, the Congress high command
has also swung into action. Now it has started the
process of appointing the national president of this
youth centre. It is said that Kharge first talked to Am-
bika Soni, but Soni has flatly refused to take up the
responsibility. So, now Kharge is thinking of giving

remaining grudge has left Nitish Kumar
restless too. Last days when he had a
meeting with his own party’s MP and
Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha,
Harivansh, reliable sources claim that
Harivansh facilitated Nitish’s talks with
the BJP top leadership. It is said
that the BJP top ledershop told
Nitish that ‘you are a politician
of clean image, where are
you getting stuck with the
corrupt. Sooner or later he
(Tejashwi Yadav) will have
to go to jail and at that time
there may be a split in your
party as well.’ It is said that
Nitish has put a condition
of re-alliance with
the BJP that ‘if
Nitish joins
an alliance with the BJP, then along
with the Lok Sabha polls in Bihar, the
assembly elections should also be held

JDU to get so many seats to
contest elections. The 2019
Lok Sabha elections were
fought jointly by BJP JDU in
Bihar and this alliance
won 39 out of

In the new team, BJP national president JP Nadda
includes Vasundhara Raje as National Vice Presi-
dent, state in-charge Arun Singh and Sunil Bansal as
National General Secretary, state co-incharge Vijaya Rahatkar
and Dr Alka Gurjar as National Secretaries. The team has
been formed as Assembly elections are due in many states
in coming time. The list includes 13 National Vice Prez, 8
National GS, 1 National Organization Gen Secy, 1 national co-
organization gen secy, 13 national secretaries, and treasurers.
Through JP Nadda’s marathon meeting at BJP state
headquarters on Saturday, a roadmap is expected to
emerge and strategy will be made on major issues
against the Congress government including law and order,
paper leak, corruption and appeasement. Women atrocities
will be made an issue and action plan will be prepared regard-
ing Parivartan Yatras. The BJP will take out 3 yatras in the
coming days. Brainstorming was also done on the formation of
committees related to elections.
