‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’ UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 43
PradhanSevak’s
Impeccable9yrsofService
Read these 9 potent stories on 9 powerful facets of NaMo’s governance of his 9
years in the role of the country’s Pradhan Sevak. These 9 transformational ideas
have been the defining aspects of Modi’s promise that he will create an enabling
environment through “minimum government, maximum governance”
Long Term Vision
PM Modi is futuristic. If he
speaks about Amrit Kaal,
he talks about it from a
perspective that covers the
coming century. If he talks
about an India that is devel-
oped, he also refers to the
illustrious and noble past of
our country that has made
our country what it is!
1
Atmanirbhar Bharat
The Honourable PM has
been pretty clear about the
whole thought process be-
hind Atmanirbhar Bharat and
what he wants it to look like.
He wants Indian products for
the Indian forces. On the 15th
of August, there is this iconic
21-gun salute. All these years
it was being done by the
British-made 25 pounder gun.
This time, he said “No, we
have to have an Indian gun to
make them to do it!” And we
did that. He made it happen.
2
Ease of Living
I happened to meet a
homemaker in Patna,
named Prabha. I got into a
conversation with her and
asked her “So whom are
you going to vote for in the
upcoming elections?” She
replied “I will vote for Modi-
ji!” I asked her again “Why
are you going to vote for
Modiji?” Prabha said “Didi,
my ancestors, my grandpar-
ents, parents all are dead
and gone and they died in
darkness. Today, I have
light in my house. I have
electricity. Not just this,
Modiji has also given us the
gas connection. Like my
grandmother and mother, I
don’t have to choke cooking
on the chulha either. This is
why I will vote for Modiji!”
3
National Security
We carried out surgical
strikes, not once but on a
number of occasions. In the
East, we did it on the Indo-
Myanmar border, we did in
Pakistan on both land and
in air, so while the capability
to carry out these actions
always existed with us, we
were not getting the political
go-ahead, the green signal
to actually do something like
that. So what has changed
now is that the will is there
to demonstrate to the world
and to our neighbours that
not only do we have the
capability, we have the will
to execute and translate that
capability into action.
4
Corruption-freegovernance
If there is one leader who
has tried to remove the mid-
dlemen culture, corruption
at higher as well as lower
levels in the last 75 years,
it is Prime Minister Modi.
If bureaucrats are honest,
no one can bribe them. He
made this the principle of
his governance as soon as
he took over.
8
Against Freebies
Once I had been appointed
Chairperson of Finance
Commission and we were in
the middle of a conversation.
A question cropped up and
it was regarding freebies.
Of late freebies has been a
hot topic of discussion. He
believes in fiscal laxity and is
steadfast on fiscal rectitude.
If today our macro-economic
stability is strong with low
current account deficits,
large fund investments com-
ing in, feisty deficits and debt
in spite of the pandemic,
it is because of his vision.
Modiji never allowed public
exchequer to be used in a
manner where debt would
become unserviceable.
5
Thrust on Infrastructure
His thoughts about infra are
exceedingly transforma-
tive, especially when you
consider the strategy of
retrofitting that he introduced
into the vision for smart city
planning. This has brought in
practicality and the point to
remember is that, cities don’t
become good cities only
through building of roads.
Modiji told all of us that what
we also need are clean toi-
lets and robust management
of solid and liquid waste. To-
day most cities are perform-
ing exceedingly well under
the Swachh Bharat Yojana
and making a marked con-
tribution in the management
of solid and liquid waste. All
these works are because of
Modiji’s vision.

Against VIP Culture
When you move around
in a car with lal batti, your
status definitely appears to
be distinct from the rest of
the people. Modiji abolished
this practice completely
in one fell swoop. He said
“We are ordinary people. I
am the Pradhan Sevak. All
of us are here to serve the
people. We are not VIPs.”

Arjun Ram Meghwal,

Digital India
We said to Modiji that as part
of Digital India initiative, we
will club a few projects. He
said “No, not at all. All this
won’t work. Think about how
we wish to create a Digital In-
dia without taking money into
consideration.” He wanted us
to create a digitally powered,
knowledge society and this
is what we call high thinking.
He is a leader who thinks big
and has the vision to trans-
form society in a big way.

Many business

added that U.S. universi-

United States wanted to
open up more of those
opportunities to Indians.
He said that while the
United States and India

Asked about the gov-

SS RANDHAWA,
CONGRESS RAJ IN-CHARGE
Vasundhara Raje
Can you share with our
readers what inspired
you to pursue a career
in modelling?
I’ve always been capti-
vated by models on the
runway, witnessing their
elegance and how confi-
dently they carried them-
selves. That was my inspi-
ration. I wanted to develop
that grace and confidence
within myself, and that’s
what led me to pursue a
career in modelling.
Your journey began
with Miss India Glam
2023. How was that
experience for you, and
who played a significant
role in supporting you
along the way?
Participating in Miss India
Glam 2023 was a dream
come true. I feel incredibly
blessedtohaveachieved
the title of 2nd runner-
up. Throughout my
journey, my mentor,
Pawan Tank sir,
played a vital role.
He believed in me
andprovidedcon-
stant support. I
owe a great deal
of my success to
him and my
mentors who
guided me and
helped me devel-
op the confidence
and determination
needed to achieve
my goals.
What qualities do you
believe are essential for a
contestant in a beauty
pageant, and how did
you develop these quali-
ties within yourself?
In my opinion, discipline,
hard work, confidence, and
a positive mindset are cru-
cial for any contestant in a
beauty pageant. I devel-
oped these qualities by
keenly observing my men-
tors and seniors. I observed
how they communicated,
delivered their points,
and interacted with others.
By observing and learning
from them, I was able to
cultivate these desired
qualities within myself.
Winning a title in a
beauty pageant comes
with respect and recogni-
tion. How have you used
this platform to make a
positive impact in your
society?
Winning a title in a beauty
pageant has granted me a
great deal of respect and
recognition in my society.
It has empowered me to
voice my views and sug-
gestions on social issues.
Through the India Glam
organization, we work to-
wards providing a plat-
form for women to repre-
sent their talent, express
their opinions, and sup-
port and empower
one another.

very year, World
Brain Tumor Day
is observed on
the 8 June to raise
awareness about
brain tumours
and their impact on individuals
and their families and to promote
support for those affected by this
condition. Brain tumours are a
complex and often life-altering
medical condition that requires in-
creased attention, research and
community support.
A brain tumour refers to an ab-
normal growth of cells within the
brain or the surrounding tis-
sues. While not all brain
tumours are cancerous
(malignant), they can
still cause signifi-
cant health issues
and require medi-
cal attention.
Brain tumours
can occur in indi-
viduals of all
ages, including
children and
adults, and they can
manifest in various
forms, such as gliomas,
meningiomas, pituitary ad-
enomas, and medulloblastomas,
among others.
Brain tumours can have a pro-
found impact on individuals and
their families, affecting their phys-
ical, emotional, and social well-
being. Symptoms of brain tumours
vary depending on the tumour's
location, size and rate of growth.
Common symptoms include per-
sistent headaches, seizures, cogni-
tive difficulties, personality
changes, balance problems, and
sensory impairments.These symp-
toms can significantly affect the
individual's quality of life, limit
their independence, and create
emotional distress for both the pa-
tient and their loved ones.
World Brain Tumor Day serves
as a crucial platform to raise
awareness about brain tumours
and their impact on individuals
and communities. It pro-
vides an opportunity to
educate the public,
healthcare profes-
sionals, policymak-
ers, and the media
about the impor-
tance of early de-
tection, diagnosis,
and effective
treatment options.
By promoting
awareness, we can
ensure that individu-
als experiencing symp-
toms seek medical atten-
tion promptly, leading to earlier
intervention and improved out-
comes.
Another crucial aspect of World
Brain Tumor Day is to emphasize
the importance of support for brain
tumour patients and their families.
The journey of battling a brain tu-
mour can be physically and emo-
tionally challenging, often requir-
ing a multidisciplinary approach
involving neurosurgeons, oncolo-
gists, radiation therapists and other
healthcare professionals. It is es-
sential to provide a strong support
system for patients, offering not
only medical care but also emo-
tional support, access to resources
and opportunities for peer connec-
tions. Support groups, online com-
munities, and non-profit organiza-
tions play a vital role in helping
patients and families navigate their
journey and find comfort in know-
ing they are not alone.
World Brain Tumor Day also
aims to generate support and fund-
ing for ongoing research to ad-
vance the understanding, treat-
ment and prevention of brain tu-
mours. Researchers and scientists
continuously strive to improve
diagnostic techniques, develop
more effective treatments and
search for potential cures. In-
creased funding and public aware-
ness can accelerate these efforts,
leading to better outcomes and
improved quality of life for those
affected by brain tumours.
As individuals, there are several
ways we can contribute to raising
awareness and supporting brain
tumour patients and their families.
Here are a few suggestions:
 Educate Yourself: Learn more
about brain tumours, their
symptoms, and available treat-
ment options. This knowledge
will enable you to recognize
warning signs and support those
who may be affected.
 Spread Awareness: Share in-
formation about World Brain
Tumor Day on social media
platforms, organize local
events, or participate in existing
awareness campaigns. Every ef-
fort to raise awareness counts.
 Support Charitable Organi-
zations: Contribute to organiza-
tions that focus on brain tumour
research, patient support, and
advocacy. Your donations can
make a difference in the lives of
those affected.
 Volunteer: Offer your time and
expertise to local hospitals, clin-
ics, or support groups dedicated
to brain.

  • 4. PERSPECTIVE www.firstindia.co.in firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur thefirstindia thefirstindia thefirstindia 04 Jaipur, Thursday | June 8, 2023 ‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’ UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 43 PradhanSevak’s Impeccable9yrsofService Read these 9 potent stories on 9 powerful facets of NaMo’s governance of his 9 years in the role of the country’s Pradhan Sevak. These 9 transformational ideas have been the defining aspects of Modi’s promise that he will create an enabling environment through “minimum government, maximum governance” Long Term Vision PM Modi is futuristic. If he speaks about Amrit Kaal, he talks about it from a perspective that covers the coming century. If he talks about an India that is devel- oped, he also refers to the illustrious and noble past of our country that has made our country what it is! 1 Atmanirbhar Bharat The Honourable PM has been pretty clear about the whole thought process be- hind Atmanirbhar Bharat and what he wants it to look like. He wants Indian products for the Indian forces. On the 15th of August, there is this iconic 21-gun salute. All these years it was being done by the British-made 25 pounder gun. This time, he said “No, we have to have an Indian gun to make them to do it!” And we did that. He made it happen. 2 Ease of Living I happened to meet a homemaker in Patna, named Prabha. I got into a conversation with her and asked her “So whom are you going to vote for in the upcoming elections?” She replied “I will vote for Modi- ji!” I asked her again “Why are you going to vote for Modiji?” Prabha said “Didi, my ancestors, my grandpar- ents, parents all are dead and gone and they died in darkness. Today, I have light in my house. I have electricity. Not just this, Modiji has also given us the gas connection. Like my grandmother and mother, I don’t have to choke cooking on the chulha either. This is why I will vote for Modiji!” 3 National Security We carried out surgical strikes, not once but on a number of occasions. In the East, we did it on the Indo- Myanmar border, we did in Pakistan on both land and in air, so while the capability to carry out these actions always existed with us, we were not getting the political go-ahead, the green signal to actually do something like that. So what has changed now is that the will is there to demonstrate to the world and to our neighbours that not only do we have the capability, we have the will to execute and translate that capability into action. 4 Corruption-freegovernance If there is one leader who has tried to remove the mid- dlemen culture, corruption at higher as well as lower levels in the last 75 years, it is Prime Minister Modi. If bureaucrats are honest, no one can bribe them. He made this the principle of his governance as soon as he took over. 8 Against Freebies Once I had been appointed Chairperson of Finance Commission and we were in the middle of a conversation. A question cropped up and it was regarding freebies. Of late freebies has been a hot topic of discussion. He believes in fiscal laxity and is steadfast on fiscal rectitude. If today our macro-economic stability is strong with low current account deficits, large fund investments com- ing in, feisty deficits and debt in spite of the pandemic, it is because of his vision. Modiji never allowed public exchequer to be used in a manner where debt would become unserviceable. 5 Thrust on Infrastructure His thoughts about infra are exceedingly transforma- tive, especially when you consider the strategy of retrofitting that he introduced into the vision for smart city planning. This has brought in practicality and the point to remember is that, cities don’t become good cities only through building of roads. Modiji told all of us that what we also need are clean toi- lets and robust management of solid and liquid waste. To- day most cities are perform- ing exceedingly well under the Swachh Bharat Yojana and making a marked con- tribution in the management of solid and liquid waste. All these works are because of Modiji’s vision. 6 COMPILED AND EDITED BY SHASHIKANT SHARMA AND SHWETA SHARMA  Vol 5  Issue No. 2  RNI NO. RAJENG/2019/77764. Modiji abolished this practice completely in one fell swoop. He said “We are ordinary people. I am the Pradhan Sevak. All of us are here to serve the people. We are not VIPs.” 7 Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister Digital India We said to Modiji that as part of Digital India initiative, we will club a few projects. He said “No, not at all. All this won’t work. Think about how we wish to create a Digital In- dia without taking money into consideration.” He wanted us to create a digitally powered, knowledge society and this is what we call high thinking. Health will be satisfactory. very year, World Brain Tumor Day is observed on the 8 June to raise awareness about brain tumours and their impact on individuals and their families and to promote support for those affected by this condition. Brain tumours are a complex and often life-altering medical condition that requires in- creased attention, research and community support. A brain tumour refers to an ab- normal growth of cells within the brain or the surrounding tis- sues. While not all brain tumours are cancerous (malignant), they can still cause signifi- cant health issues and require medi- cal attention. Brain tumours can occur in indi- viduals of all ages, including children and adults, and they can manifest in various forms, such as gliomas, meningiomas, pituitary ad- enomas, and medulloblastomas, among others. Brain tumours can have a pro- found impact on individuals and their families, affecting their phys- ical, emotional, and social well- being. Symptoms of brain tumours vary depending on the tumour's location, size and rate of growth. Common symptoms include per- sistent headaches, seizures, cogni- tive difficulties, personality changes, balance problems, and sensory impairments. These symp- toms can significantly affect the individual's quality of life, limit their independence, and create emotional distress for both the pa- tient and their loved ones. World Brain Tumor Day serves as a crucial platform to raise awareness about brain tumours and their impact on individuals and communities. It pro- vides an opportunity to educate the public, healthcare profes- sionals, policymak- ers, and the media about the impor- tance of early de- tection, diagnosis, and effective treatment options. By promoting awareness, we can ensure that individu- als experiencing symp- toms seek medical atten- tion promptly, leading to earlier intervention and improved out- comes. Another crucial aspect of World Brain Tumor Day is to emphasize the importance of support for brain tumour patients and their families. The journey of battling a brain tu- mour can be physically and emo- tionally challenging, often requir- ing a multidisciplinary approach involving neurosurgeons, oncolo- gists, radiation therapists and other healthcare professionals. It is es- sential to provide a strong support system for patients, offering not only medical care but also emo- tional support, access to resources and opportunities for peer connec- tions. Support groups, online com- munities, and non-profit organiza- tions play a vital role in helping patients and families navigate their journey and find comfort in know- ing they are not alone. World Brain Tumor Day also aims to generate support and fund- ing for ongoing research to ad- vance the understanding, treat- ment and prevention of brain tu- mours. Researchers and scientists continuously strive to improve diagnostic techniques, develop more effective treatments and search for potential cures. In- creased funding and public aware- ness can accelerate these efforts, leading to better outcomes and improved quality of life for those affected by brain tumours. As individuals, there are several ways we can contribute to raising awareness and supporting brain tumour patients and their families. Here are a few suggestions:  Educate Yourself: Learn more about brain tumours, their symptoms, and available treat- ment options. This knowledge will enable you to recognize warning signs and support those who may be affected.  Spread Awareness: Share in- formation about World Brain Tumor Day on social media platforms, organize local events, or participate in existing awareness campaigns. Every ef- fort to raise awareness counts.  Support Charitable Organi- zations: Contribute to organiza- tions that focus on brain tumour research, patient support, and advocacy. Your donations can make a difference in the lives of those affected.  Volunteer: Offer your time and expertise to local hospitals, clin- ics, or support groups dedicated to brain.
