basis points to 5.90 per
cent, RBI Governor

tary Policy Committee
(MPC). The central

rate four times since
May to the recent 5.90
per cent. The recent re-
vision in repo rate has
been made to keep infla-
tion level within target.

arising from monetary tightening and
aggressive communications from

government. In a relat-
ed development, Union
Minister Gajendra Sin-
gh Shekhawat, who
reached Udaipur on Fri-
day, described the ongo-
ing power struggle in
the Congress as disap-
pointing for the people
of the State.
Shekhawat also made
a direct attack on Chief

when Sachin Pilot had

again commence from
Saturday in Sariska Tiger
Reserve. Officials informed
the safari will begin at four
core routes and one buffer
route in the tiger reserve.

start at five routes, including
a buffer route, from Saturday.
The tiger safari will be held

has taken a major decision
regarding tiger safaris in
Ranthambore National Park.
The current booking of jeeps
has been closed and now only
online bookings can be done.

major roads falling

In the PWC meeting
of JDA held on Friday,
thecommitteeapproved
Rs. 11.61 crores for the
repair of roads in the
city. The renovation
work will take place in
areas like Pratap Nagar,
Tonk Road, OTS circle,
and Jhalana Doongri
among others.
A budget of Rs. 4.12
crore has been ap-
proved for footpath
work, while the 40 feet
road near Jawahar Cir-
cle will also be widened
to 60 feet.

the political crisis in
the Rajasthan Congress
might affect the Invest-
ment Summit 2022 to be
held in Jaipur on Octo-
ber 7 and 8. If the sum-
mit gets cancelled, in-
vestments worth Rs ten
thousand crores can get
cancelled. Besides, the
risk of losing 26,000
jobs will also increase.
The Rajasthan gov-
ernment should set up
more industries in the
state, make investment
in external entrepre-
neurial Rajasthan so
that unemployment is
reduced in the state and
industrial areas are de-
veloped. For this, the
Ministry of Industry
interacted with the in-
dustrialists of other
states and abroad.
If the summit hap-
pens, about ten thou-
sand crore would be in-
vested in the state and
close to nine lakh peo-
ple would get employ-
ment. Industries De-

had signed 4192 MoU-
LoIs with different com-

Jaipur: In the matter of recruitment of sanitation workers,
Rajasthan HC has issued contempt notice to the Director
of LSG Directorate and Commissioner of Municipal
Council Alwar. The Raj HC, in its May 29, 2019 order,
asked advocate Hitesh Bagdi, on behalf of the petitioner,
that a committee should be formed to dispose of all the
petitions in the matter of recruitment of sanitation work-
ers in an honest way. In compliance with these orders,
the LSG Department constituted a committee to settle the
cases. But the committee formed has not yet resolved all
the cases even after three years. The aggrieved applicant
Saroj finally filed a contempt petition.

risks. We feel unsatisfied if
our child won’t study in high
paying fields like engineering
and medicine, and also if he
is not superior to his cousins
and neighbors. But if we al-
low our child to follow his/
her then there are high pos-
sibilities of the child turning
out to be an Innovator. How-
ever, all of it is about taking a
risk. As Steve jobs once said
in a very apt manner, we
don’t allow our children to do
experiments; we don’t allow
them to fail in his subject of
interest. In India, there is no
respect of a person who failed
once, well in case of Silicon
Valley such person assumed
more valued.
If we take the e x -
ample of Harish Hande, Har-
ish Hande experienced the
importance of innovative
thinking while he was pursu-
ing doctorate at Boston Uni-
versity in the USA. He got a
chance to visit the Domini-
can Republic once. It was
there when he understood
the relationship between
poverty and darkness for the
first time. After that, his
heart belonged there and he
decided to contribute his en-
tire life in producing afford-
able energy sources for poor
and needy people.
After that he started spend-
ing sometime in the villages
of Sri Lanka to understand
the needs and struggles of
such people. There was no-
body who knew English over
there. He invented the solar
devices, not keeping in mind
how it would benefit the city
but from the perspective of
the village area. People of the
village of Sri Lanka told Mr
Harish that scarcity of heat
or solar light is not our prob-
lem. But the problem was of
the cluster of elephants that
comes in the night and they
destroy crops and harts and
also kill people many times.
Harish made solar operat-
ed fencing to protect the lives
and wealth of people. Then
he came to India to establish
SELCO. The main aim of tak-
ing this risk of Four Million
Dollars was only to identify
new uses of energy and im-
prove the lives of villages as
well as cities by that continu-
ous innovation.
Harish had the ability to
take a high paying job any-
where in the world. But he
took social responsibility for
people who were at the bot-
tom of the economic pyra-
mid by ignoring the strug-
gles. Be it Steve jobs or Har-
ish Hande, either if it’s a
company or an 0rganization
one thing was common in

JUDGMENT OR DECREE OBTAINED BY FRAUD
IS TO BE TREATED AS A NULLITY, SAYS SC
HOLD ROUTE MARCH ON NOVEMBER 6:
MADRAS HIGH COURT DIRECTS RSS
New Delhi: The Supreme Court observed that a decree
obtained by fraud is to be treated as a nullity. Non-disclosure
of the relevant and material documents
with a view to obtain an undue advantage
would amount to fraud, it said. In this
case, the Allahabad High Court had set
aside the order passed by the Deputy
Collector, Rasoolabad cancelling the
fair price shop licence of petitioner. It was found that the
cancellation was done without following the inquiry process.
Chennai: The Madras High Court on Friday directed the
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to hold its ‘route
marches’ and public meetings in 51 places in Tamil Nadu
on November 6, instead of the originally proposed October
2. Justice GK Ilanthiraiyan, who gave the direction to this
effect, while entertaining a contempt application from the
RSS, also directed the state government and the police to
give the permission and inform the court on the same by
October 31. If no decision is taken or permission is not
given, the court will take up the contempt application and
proceed to pass orders, the judge warned.

New Delhi: The Supreme
Court on Friday dismissed
a plea which claimed
EVMs were “controlled”
by some companies
and not the Election
Commission, saying the
court is not a place where
everybody walks in just
to get “some publicity”. It
said the election process
under is monitored by the
Election Commission and
EVMs are being used in
polls for decades now.

more than two dozen
MLAs and ministers of
Mamata Banerjee gov-

to give a list of 99 such
MLAs to the ED, who
have assets dispropor-
tionate to their known
sources of income.
These 25 people are also
included in those 99
people. The sword
hangs on the current
list of 25 legislators be-
cause of the Kolkata
High Court where a PIL
to probe the alleged un-
accounted assets of
these leaders is pending
since 2017. This petition
has been filed by Biplab
Dev Choudhary
. Recent-
ly, state government
minister Partha Chat-
terjee’s establishments
were raided, cash was
found and he was ar-
rested, then Biplab
Chaudhary again
reached the High Court.
While hearing this
case, the High Court
has also made the ED a
party in it. Against
this decision of the
High Court, three min-
isters of the state gov-
ernment — Firhad
Hakim, Jyotipriya Ma-
lik and Arup Roy —
have reached the court.
They have contested
that the ED should not
be involved in this case
as the Election Com-
mission and Income
Tax Department have
not got any unaccount-
ed property from them.
However, from the
stand of the court, it
seems that the ED will
be a party in this and
the court will give its
investigation to the
ED. Those whose as-
sets are to be investi-
gated include Firhad
Hakim, Jyotipriya Ma-
lik, Malay Ghatak,
Bratyavrata Basu etc
and the name of BJP
MP Arjun Singh is also
included in this. He
has recently returned
to the Trinamool Con-
gress. The names of
big leaders like Gau-
tam Deb, Amit Mitra,
Abdur Razak Mollah,
Madan Mitra are also

Patna: The Bihar government on Friday issued a
statement condemning the indiscretion of senior IAS of-
ficer Harjot Kaur Bamhrah during an interaction with girl
students here earlier this week which has
led to an outcry. The Information and Public
Relations Department said in the state-
ment that “cognizance has been taken and
high-level review done” of the utterances
of Bamhrah who has also been slapped
with a notice by the National Commission
for Women. The statement asserted that the conduct of
Bamhrah, who heads the state’s Women and Child Devel-
opment Corporation, was “not appropriate in the view of

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate has freezed
crypto currencies and Tether, an Ethereum token that
is pegged to the value of a US dollar, equivalent to Rs
47.64 lakh under the provisions of the Prevention of
Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This has come following
an investigation conducted by the ED against a person
named Aamir Khan and others relating to the Mobile gam-
ing application, E-nuggets, According to an Enforcement

Shiv Sena as it has done
in the case of Lok Jan-
shakti Party or will its

question has been aris-
ing ever since the Su-
preme Court ordered
that the Election Com-
mission should decide
about Shiv Sena. At the
same time, it is also be-
ing said that the deci-
sion of the Supreme
Court is a major victory
for the Eknath Shinde
faction and a huge blow
to the Uddhav Thacker-
ay faction. It is also sur-
prising as to why is
there a perception that
the decision of the Elec-
tion Commission in the
Shiv Sena case will go
against the Uddhav
Thackeray faction?
The model of Lok
Janshakti Party is in
front of the Election
Commission. After the
death of Ram Vilas Pas-
wan, there was a split in
the Lok Janshakti Party
and five out of the six
MPs of the party came
together and claimed
themselves to be the rep-
resentatives of ‘real’
LJP. The Speaker also
gave them recognition
in the Lok Sabha. The
leader of that faction,
Pashupati Paras, is a
minister in the central
government. Later,
when the real party’s
claim reached the Elec-
tion Commission, the
commission gave a bal-
ancing decision. The
commission confiscated
the Lok Janshakti Party
name and election sym-
bol. So, the name of the
party of Pashupati Pa-
ras faction is Rashtriya
Lok Janshakti Party
and the name of the
party of Chirag Paswan
faction is Lok Janshakti
Party Ramvilas.
So, the commission
has a previous prece-
dent to take a similar
decision in the case of
Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena’s
name and its ‘arrow-
bow’ election symbol
should be confiscated
and separate names and
symbols should be allot-
ted to both the groups.
But if it has to happen
then how will it be a ma-
jor victory for the Shin-
de faction? A big victory
for the Shinde faction
will happen when it gets
the name and election
symbol of Shiv Sena.
Only then will it have
any advantage in the
municipal elections to
be held in the next few
days. Like LJP, in Shiv
Sena too, most of the
MPs and MLAs are with
the Eknath Shinde fac-
tion but the party organ-
ization is still with Ud-
dhav Thackeray
.

PHED OK’S MEGA WATER PROJECTS
FOR PRATAPGARH AND BANSWARA
Jaipur: PHED has approved a mega project of
Rs1062.77 crore to provide drinking water facility
to 524 villages of Pratapgarh district. The mega
project was approved in a meeting chaired by Addi-
tional Chief Secretary of Public Health Engineering
and Ground Water Dr Subodh Agrawal. Under the
project, the drinking water problem of 136 villages
of Pratapgarh Panchayat Samiti, 106 villages of
Dhamottar, 83 villages of Arnod, 103 villages of
Dalot 96 villages of Suhagpura Panchayat Samiti
will be resolved through Jakham dam. Under the
Jal Jeevan Mission, 82,525 water connections will
be given to every household from this project. Sim-
ilarly, Mahi Dam to 399 villages of Banswara dist.

Friday near village Jag-
sara killing one on the
spot and leaving the
other seriously injured.
According to the police,
after the accident near

by ambulance to CHC,

was taken to Niwai Hos-
pital. As per the sourc-
es, on Friday, a private

hlot, who has camped
in Delhi over the un-
certainty regarding
Congress president
election said on Fri-
day, that he has no de-
sire for any post. “My
job is to strengthen
the Congress party,”
Gehlot said to the me-
dia before Mallikar-
jun Kharge filed nom-
ination for the post of
Congress President.
He said that what-
ever responsibility he
gets from the party, he
will fulfill it and has
assured the High
Command of this. Re-
garding the election
of Congress Presi-
dent, Gehlot said,

always been neutral
in this and my work is
only to strengthen the

formation Commission
has been initiated as
the current Commis-
sioner - 65 year old
Narain Bareth - retired
on Friday, September
30. He was appointed to
the position in Decem-
ber 2020 and at present
one Chief Commission-
er and 4 Commissioner
are posted in the Com-
missioner.
At present, former
Chief Secretary of Ra-
jasthan - DB Gupta - is
serving as Chief Secre-
tary. Along with him, a
total strength of five
Commissioners is
working here, includ-
ing Bareth, but with his
retirement, one post
has fallen vacant. The
state government has
already sought applica-
tions for the vacant post
and August 26 was the
last date for applica-
tion. Sources reveal
that more than a dozen
applications have been
received, among which
are four retired IAS and
2 journalists. Accord-
ing to the Act, the new
appointment is done by
Governor and the term
is either for five year or
65 years of age.
The previous BJP
government had ap-
pointed journalist
Ashutosh Sharma as
Commissioner and con-
tinuing this tradition,
the present Congress
government appointed
journalist Narain Ba-
reth as Commissioner.
Hence the journalists
who have applied for the
position, are keeping
their fingers crossed.
Meanwhile, the file
regarding starting pen-
sion of retired CIC and

Act) for a period of four
years years or till at-
taining the age of 70
years. His tenure as
chairman will be till
September 27, 2026.
The tribunal was con-
stituted with regard to
smuggling and foreign
exchange manipula-
tion. The confiscation
of property is done un-
der the Act 1976. The
tribunal has the right to
hear appeals in smug-
gling and NDPS cases.
As Chairman, Jus-
tice Bhandari will han-
dle three appellate
courts. He has many
responsibilities includ-
ing the formation of
benches of tribunals,
preparation of roster,
hearing of important
cases, and formation of
circuit benches. Justice
