• Location- Colorful background, bright colors featured throughout the
sequence.
• Body Language- Not much body language featured.
• Costume and Props- Colorful props used throughout, including food,
books, receipts and stationary items.
• Lighting- High key lighting throughout the entire sequence.
• Décor- Colorful carpets used in the sequence.
3. CONNOTATION
• Location- All the prepared food and carpets could lead us to believe that he doesn't’t go out very
much and typically enjoys staying at home. The vintage carpets look like they belong in the 1970’s.
• Body Language- Not much body language featured.
• Costume and Props- Silly, dorky props give us an insight into the characters personality. Wallet and
contents gives the impression that the character is a nerd as it contains a ‘UFO Abduction Insurance’
card. His school ID shows us his picture, which shows us that he is the typical stereotype of a nerd.
He has a perm haircut and jam jar glasses. All the food is organized and neatly constructed, showing
OCD aspects of the characters personality, which further proves to us that he may be a nerd. The
ninja throwing star featured in the film shows that he may not have a large social life, along with the
fantasy drawings and boks he seems to appreciate highly. Is all creates the image of a character
being a typical nerd. Library books are featured in the opening credits, which leads us to believe our
character is an intelligent person.
• Lighting- High key lighting gives the impression of a fun, bright environment. It sets the stage for a
comedy film.
• Décor- Creative, quirky title credits involving food and other objects makes it seem like a light, fun,
friendly film for all ages.
