Task 1 ways of realism
1.
2. Themes, Location.
The theme that our group set out to portray was a drama
based on bullying. With the construction of sound and actors
we were able to do this. We set it in an area quite close by to
the college by the pond in Clapton; by this we were able to put
together a good standard piece of work as the actors
involved especially the person being bullied was able to put
on facial expressions which a person being bullied would
usually make. The days in which we filmed turned out to be
very convenient for us because the weather ended up being
quite sunny which made our dialogue relevant to the
storyline. I edited for the first time ever, so I reckon that I did
add some realism to the final edited piece as the sound along
with the movement of the actors played a big part in
portraying the theme of the sequence.
3. People Included and
excluded, camera shots
The people included in the sequence consisted of a
person being bullied and two people bullying the
person, people we excluded in the sequence could
have been people that would help which we do see
in real life, so we could of added that to add to the
realism of the sequence. The forms of realism that
we managed to portray is the actual theme of the
sequence because these things consist in everyday
life which we wanted portray and managed to do to
a certain extent, due to problems filming we had to
come up with a good piece of work. The camera
shots that we used were quite good but could of
consisted of much better shots such as shot
reverse shots at the dialogue scenes, and some
close ups of the bullies. The lighting in the scene
ended up being quite good but when we think of it
we could of filmed more later in the day when it was
quite dark, so we could add a bit more fear and
realism in the audiences mind and add sympathy to
them and feel more sorry for the person being
bullied and make people realize that these things
happen on a day to day basis.
4. Location, Music.
The music involved in the sequence was the
major component in adding to the realism of
the scene, as the music in our feedback was
the major thing in what people wanted to see
in a dramatic scene based on a drama
storyline. The location (Clapton pond) was
the best place to set it in our circumstances
and ended being quite convenient as if you
see the pond you see that it is closed up and
a place where you could get trapped and
what better place for someone being bullied
to be put into where they could not escape,
so the location also added to the realism of
the scene, as quite a few aspects of our
production allowed it to be as realistic as
possible even though the camera work done
did not do this. Image of the area we had
filmed our sequecne.
