Technical audit- Position Available
1. Technical Audit
Introduction
Altea Resources plans to conduct a 2D seismic survey of approximately 1400 Km in
Algeria. Mobilization will begin around February 2016 (depending on the planning of
the project). The general objectives of this 2D seismic survey are:
• Improve the quality of existing seismic data.
• Improve signal to noise ratio and seismic signal recovery.
• Re-define discovered prospects and define new prospects.
• Ensure adequate imaging of deep and shallow reservoir horizons.
• Ensure reasonable and regular coverage.
Altea Resources invite for proposals of consultancy for the provision of the following
services at the startup of geophysical operations, currently scheduled for February
2016:
1. Technical Audit of Seismic Contractor’s Equipment (only at startup of
operations).
Preferably, the candidates will already have experience in the area. Fluent English
is mandatory.
Scope of Work
The persons to provide the service will conduct an audit of the seismic contractor’s
energy source and recording equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer’s
specifications and Company’s requirements. The engineer shall bring all necessary
testing equipment to complete the audit. The technical audit is envisaged to be a
stand-alone item and the engineer is not expected to form part of a QC team.
Field tests shall include, but not be
limited to:
o Recording instrument tests – distortion, dynamic range, system timing, etc;
o Energy Source – start time, synchronization and the standard recommended
procedures.
o Sensors – Distortion, natural frequency, leakage, etc;
o Telemetry Cables – leakage, dynamic resistance, transmission loss, etc;
o Other Equipment – as required.
The audit engineer will assess the competence of the recording crew and give advice
and instruction where necessary on the latest instrument quality control techniques
and test procedures. At the end of the field visit the engineer will discuss the results
with Contractor and Company representatives and generate a summary report for the
Company, to be followed by a full audit report.
2. Minimum Qualifications requirements
Appropriate technical qualifications and experience of performing technical audits on
seismic equipment is required.
o At least 10 years of experience as technical auditor for land geophysical
operations, preferably on 2D-3D crews.
o BSc in Geophysics, Electronic Engineering degree, Computer Science or
equivalent qualification.
o For the evaluation of candidates, bidders shall also submit evidence of training and
relevant courses, including HSE certifications.
