CanadaiskeentopartnerwithIndiaintheagricultureandprocessingsectors,particularlyinpulsesandcanola(rapeseed). Morethan50%ofthetotalpulsesimportedbyIndiacomesfromCanada.Indiaisthebiggestproducerofpulsesintheworldat19milliontonneandtheirbiggestimporter--3.5milliontonne.ACanadiandelegation,headedbyBradWall, premieroftheSaskatchewanprovinceofCanada,metAgricultureMinisterRadhaMohanSinghonWednesday.AsIndiaaimstotoincreaseproductivityperhectareoflandandensurefoodsecurity,Saskatchewanwantstopartnerbothatfarmandprocessinglevel,Wallsaid."WeseeagrowingmarketinIndia--79%oflentilsand61%ofyellowpeasimportedtoIndiacomefromourprovince,"hesaid.CanadaisthebiggestexporterofyellowpeasandlentilstoIndiawithimportsjustfromSaskatchewantouching1.5milliontonne. MustardseedpriceshavewitnessedsomebuyingtodayduetohigherpricequoteofKoreantenderinthelastday.Thetenderpricewasdecidedat$252pertonneagainsttheopeningquoteof$250pertonne. Tradersexpectingthathighertenderratesofmustardmealwillsupportthepricesinthenearterm.
ChanapricesweretradingaroundRs3050perquintal,unchangedfromthelastdayduetolimitedsellingbytraders.Thefreshsowingisstillamajorconcernasfarmersareshiftingthechanaareatowardsmasoorcropduetobetterpricereturns.Thiswillsupportthepricesinthenearterm.
Turmericpriceshavereportedsomesellingtodayduetostrongsuppliesinerodemandiandweakexportersbutingathigherlevels. However,weakproductionestimatesandrecedingstocksinlocalmandiestosupportpricesinthenearterm.
Goodarrivalshavepulledguarseedlowerinlastfewdays.Pricestestedfivemonthlowbeforewitnessingsomebuying.Thetotalarrivalsare1.25lakhbagstoday.Oldandnewstocksareatacomfortablelevel.Exportshavebeenslackinlastfewweeksonmassivecorrectionincrudeoilfuturesglobally.Gumdemandissteadybutwouldpickuponlyifthecrudepricesriseinnearterm.SpotpricestradeatRs4900perquintalinJodhpurtoday.
Somesellingwasobservedinjeermarketduetostrongarrivalsofoldstocksinlocalamndies.However,thedemandremainsgoodthough.HugedeclineisestimatedinJeerasowinginthecurrentyear.Thepriceswillremainunderpressureintheshortterm.

Openingdateoftendershasbeenfixedat06thDecember,2014.AspertheISMAreport,sugarproductioninthecountryfor2014- 15(till15thNov,2014)standoutat5.6lakhtonsasagainst4.6lakhtonesduringthesameperiod.Sofar,thedatacollectedwasfrom141sugarmillsmostlyoperatinginMaharashtra,KarnatakaandGujaratwhilecrushingprocessisstillpendinginstateslikeUttarPradesh.U.Pgovt.declaredcaneSAPofRs280/quintal(normalvariety),Rs290/quintal(earlyripeningvariety)andRs275/quintal(latevariety)formarketingyear2014-15;whicharesimilartotheratefixedlastyear.Thegovt.hadalsomadeitcompulsoryforthemillerstopaythefirstinstallmentofRs240/quintalwithin14daysofprocurementwhiletheremainingamountneedstobepaidwithinthreemonthsofcompletionofcrushing.
