2. MY TARGET AUDIENCE
(ImagesfromUKTribes)
My demographic is male, from 15-30 and in the C2
area of the working class scale. Stereotypically that
is. On the other hand, my demographic is also
females in this age range and working class,
including the social groups that you see to the left.
These people are part of the alternative group and
they tend to be very passionate about their loud
instruments and deep music. They all have a deep
interest in rock/ pop-punk music, the genre of my
magazine.
In terms of physiographics, my target audience will
most likely have a disposable income, high intellect
and aspirations.
3. MEDIA KIT
Most magazines, in fact, all magazines, have a media kit, in which the magazine
shows its intentions for its target audience and the demographic for the magazine.
Kerrang’s Media Kit shows their target audience is the demographic of young males
interested in the genre of pop punk music and rock music
(http://www.scribd.com/doc/288612014/Kerrang-Media-Kit#scribd). Its average age
for their demographic is 27.
4. ADVERTISING
The advertising I am going to use in my magazine will apply to my target audience
because it will align with their stereotypical and conventional needs. Things such as
gigs, festivals, digital devices such as smartphones and cameras, will all be things that
my audience will want because of their demographic being the digital age. Having
these types of adverts inside my rock/ pop-punk magazine will be more appropriate
than having adverts such as One Direction posters and baby dolls, as my audience
wouldn’t find any appeal in this.
