SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Empathy. For myself one of the most important aspects of any type of employment
or life is being able to help others and understand another’s perspectives and be able
to help in any way possible. I feel that I possess this characteristic which I deem to be
imperative. For example, throughout my time in sixth form, where I was nominated a
senior prefect, I undertook numerous activities such as peer mentoring, paired
reading, organizing clubs for younger students which enabled them to interact and
help them adapt to their new environment smoothly. These roles allowed me to give
any necessary guidance and support. Additionally I was also able to help organize a
school charity show.
I feel that I have learnt an enormous amount of transferable skills from my
experiences. From working at the John Lewis Partnership, I have come to understand
the significance of being a team player and working towards goals. I have found my
job very rewarding, and developed skills of utmost importance such as being
punctual, trustworthy and learning true values of a business. As well as understanding
the importance of communication between other team members and customers.
Being flexible for a customer’s needs, whether that be amending a booking on short
notice or finding other resources elsewhere that might be suitable. Throughout my
studies at Kings College London I have found that I have a thorough methodical
approach, although my degree has been a challenging period I feel that it has driven
me to do well and aspire to great things.
