In my current role I am assisting in managing a team of 25 people in a convenience store in Greater
London. More recently I was heavily involved in the new opening of a store in Greenwich in August 2014
to which it is still continuing to grow. This responsibility has helped me strive within effective planning
and team management. Key roles within this job include:
Supervising the Store –I have full responsibility of the running of shifts when in store in which there can
be up to seven members of staff on at one time shift to which I need to delegate the specific jobs and
ensure that all members of staff are completing their tasks proficiently. This role includes me to use my
Organisational and Leadership skills to full extent.
Customer Service – I am the point of contact for any serious customer queries or complaints. I have to
handle these in a professional way ensuring that I understand the feelings of the customer and deal with
their issues that supports Sainsbury’s policies as well as leaving the customer satisfied this means that
the main responsibilities are to be Customer Focused and have excellent Communication Skills.
Safe and Legal – I have to ensure that the shop is trading legally and safely for both the customers and
colleagues. This includes; fire safety checks, quality assurance on fresh produce, ensuring all colleagues
training are up to date.
Cash and Banking – I am responsible for change orders, ordering of cash, counting the safe and logging
all openings and closing of it. I am a safe key holder, which means the safe can only be opened when I
am present. This is a responsibility that I have been given due to the fact that I am a trusted and
responsible senior member of the team.
Human Resources – To ensure Recruitment, Payroll and Training is done to full efficiency.
2. Other Responsibilities – To take feedback from superiors and reports to improve customer service and

Voluntary Work
I am heavily involved in the store charity ‘Charlton Upbeats’ which raises money for children and young
adults with Downs Syndrome who want to be involved in sports and football. I recently participated on an
8 mile walk providing free refreshments to all those taking part at several points along the way. Other
fundraising activities that I organised for the charity were a Halloween Colouring Competition for our
younger customers and a Taste the Difference Christmas Hamper Raffle.
Hobbies and Interests
In my spare time, I have an active interest in all types of sports, especially motorsports in which I have
become part of a motor sports society that meet on a bi monthly basis. I have been to watch several
races and find it an exciting experience that also gives me the chance to meet new people that share the
same passion. I have also recently taken up playing golf in which I have learnt independently as I have
always been a spectator of the sport. I find it relaxing and enjoyable way to spend my free time and has
helped me developed my patience and attention to detail. It also has help me drive to achieve greater
results by being analytical within myself and has helped me become self motivate.
