1. This is a magazine advert of Fuse ODG song
Azonto. The shot type of the image is medium
shot. The framing of the image is centred.
The body language of the artist Fuse ODG is
happy (through his smile) and chilled (through
him wearing sunglasses), which can link to the
genre of Afrobeat as the song is upbeat so the
artist has to look happy to reflect the song he
is promoting (Azonto).
There is an effect of shallow depths of field for
the background of the image being blurry and
the artist being focused. Another effect is that
the image is black and white but the t-shirt is
yellow. The text used is bold and bright as the
text colour is yellow and white in capital
letters. The title of the song is placed at the top
left corner of the page and it does not over lay
the artist in the image. In the same way the
information about the song being ‘out now’ is
bold and is at the bottom of the page, centred.
The combination of the text and image works
as there is a constant colour scheme evident,
black, yellow and white. Branding is also used
by social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
I will consider having a strong colour scheme
for my magazine as it would make the advert
more eye catching and appealing. I will
consider using black and white image and
make the top a bright colour. effect for my
magazine advert as well consider using shallow
depths of field as a photography technique if
the photography for my advert is at a location.
