Project (FEED) was aiming to construct a world-scale Integrated Chemicals Complex in a 70 km2
site
located in Western Region of Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to the east of existing Ruwais Industrial Complex.
Tacaamol is the name of Company’s first complex based on core integration between a Medium Heavy
Naphtha Reformer and Naphtha Cracker. Tacaamol project was developed to be implemented in stages
based on Naphtha feedstock provided by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) from the nearby
Takreer Ruwais Refinery and liquid Propane supply from GASCO. The first stage of Tacaamol is Tacaamol
Aromatics Project (TAP) that shall produce aromatics (Xylenes, Benzene) and Light Naphtha.
My responsibility on this Project was the preparation of the following deliverables for both Naphtha and
Propane Pipelines:
• Design Basis Memorandums for FEED of Propane Pipeline (12 inch x 15 km x 0.7 MTA) and
Naphtha Pipeline (32 inch x 15 km x 3,300 m3
/h).

2014-2015, Lead Pipeline Engineer, ASAB Natural Gas Field Facilities Upgrade Project, United Arab
Emirates (UAE), Client: Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO)
Scope of the Project (Conceptual Design and FEED) was to carry out the conceptual design study for ASAB
gas field facilities upgrade required to tie-in new wells of high-content H2S (approx. 20%) from the ASAB
Undeveloped Reservoirs (UDR) and additional new well fluids of relatively low-content H2S (about 3%)
from the THAMAMA “F” & “G” formations. Outcomes from this upgrade study have provided a strategic
direction to the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to determine the numbers and conceptual design
parameters including routes of the new pipelines (incl. flow lines and trunk lines) and to initiate
subsequently a project for processing gas from ASAB’s UDR and THAMAMA "F” & “G” formations in a
timely as well as cost effective manner.
My responsibility on this Project was the preparation of the following deliverables for numerous pipelines:

The Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone (KPIZ) Project did comprise an offshore seaport with onshore facilities
and an industrial zone. The Industrial Zone of KPIZ Project (KIZAD) provides fully serviced plots for
developers including all roads and utilities. The Project is located in the Taweelah Area approximately 40
km northeast of Abu Dhabi. Scope of the Project was to design a network of distillate water pipelines for
part of KIZAD Area A.
My responsibility on this Project (Detailed Design) was to prepare the following deliverables for the
distillate water pipelines:
• Pipeline Route Design Report incl. Route Maps and Routing Plans.

2015-2016, Pipeline Specialist and Project Engineer, Common Seawater Supply Pipelines Project (CSSP),
Iraq, Client: South Oil Company (SOC)
The goal of this Project (PMC for FEED) is to provide an initial phase (Phase 1) capacity of 7.5 million barrels
of water per day (MMBWPD) of treated seawater to the oil fields in southern Iraq, with a subsequent full
buildout phase of 12.5 MMBWPD. A seawater treatment facility (STF) shall be located on the west side of
the Khor Al-Zubair, upstream of the port of Umm Qasr. A system of multiple seawater pipelines along with
interconnecting stations and delivery stations shall deliver water from STF to various oilfields. A fuel gas
pipeline shall deliver gas from an existing pipeline to STF for the purpose of power generation. The major
components of the CSSP include seawater intake and outfall structures, material offloading facility,
seawater clarification, filtration and deoxygenating processes, shipping pumps, several water
transmission pipelines, fuel gas pipeline, power generation, utilities and early works site preparation and
non-process buildings to support the facility.
My responsibilities on this Project (PMC) were to coordinate engineering works of the FEED contractor
covering pipelines and related stations (above ground facilities). As pipeline specialist I was also
responsible to review, check, comment, update and approve the diverse Project deliverables consisting

2015, Senior Pipeline Engineer, Haliba Field Development Project, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Client:
Al Dhafra Petroleum Operations Company Limited, Joint Venture between ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National
Oil Company) and KADOC (Korean National Oil Corporation)
The Project is located within the onshore and offshore concession areas of Abu Dhabi. One of these areas,
Area-1 is located onshore in Abu Dhabi and currently includes four (4) discovered fields, namely Haliba,
Bu Qalla, Riqueah and L1-G, which were discovered and tested in the early 1990’s comprising a total area
of about 4,340 km2
. The first field development target is the Haliba field. The Project scope includes the
Combined Concept and FEED of Haliba Field Development consisting of single phase full field development
and full well stream transfer to ADCO ASAB facilities for further processing through an export pipeline (20
inch) of approximately 65 km length with a maximum throughput capacity of 30,000 BOPD. The facilities
in this greenfield Project with minimum manning includes production wells, water source wells, water
injection system, water injection wells, multiport selector manifold, pig traps, crude oil export pipeline
from Haliba central gathering facilities to ASAB field operated by ADCO.
My responsibility on the Project (PMC for Combined Concept and FEED) was reviewing, commenting and
approving the pipeline engineering deliverables consisting mainly of:

2005-2011, Lead Pipeline Engineer & Advisor to Board of Directors, Nabucco Natural Gas Pipeline
Project, Turkey – Bulgaria – Romania – Hungary – Austria, Client: Nabucco Gas Pipeline International
GmbH
The Nabucco natural gas pipeline (56 inches x 3500 km x 11 Compressor Stations x 31 Billion Sm3
/a)
constitutes a dedicated gas transit and transportation link from Turkey to Austria via Bulgaria, Romania
and Hungary, with fiscal metering stations at each national border and block valve stations, scraper
stations as well as compressor stations along the route across five (5) transit countries. Metered natural
gas pipeline off-takes for national gas grids and underground gas storage have been provided in the five
transit countries. The aim of the Project was to create a pipeline system for natural gas transmission from
different sources in the Caspian Sea Region and the Middle East to Central Europe. Since 2015 the Turkish

section (56 inch and 1500 km) of this pipeline, called TANAP (Trans Anatolian Pipeline) is under
construction.
My responsibility on this Project was as active member of the technical working group from five (5)
different companies (BOTAS from Turkey, BEH from Bulgaria, TRANSGAZ from Rumania, MOL from
Hungary, OMV from Austria and RWE from Germany) to represent the Project shareholder from Turkey
(BOTAS) and to review, comment as well as approve all Project deliverables produced by the FEED
Contractor (Owner’s Engineer) as per diverse engineering disciplines. My further responsibility was as
active member of a technical commission within BOTAS to prepare guidelines and manuals for technical
integrity of crude oil and natural gas pipelines as well as LNG and natural gas underground storage plants
of Turkey with respect to engineering, design, construction, operation and abandonment as per Turkish
and/or European industrial codes, standards and technical regulations.
2005, Project Manager, Underground Natural Gas Storage Plant Project, Turkey, Client: TPAO Turkish
Petroleum Corporation
The scope of this Project (EPIC) was to design and construct Turkey’s first natural gas underground storage
plant in Silivri located near (ca. 70 km) to mega city of Istanbul. The depleted natural gas fields of Turkish
Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) with a capacity of 2.6 billion cubic meters (about 5% of the Turkish natural
gas demand) were converted into gas storage reservoirs. A new gas pipeline of the Project was to
constitute the link between existing natural gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey and this new gas storage
plant. The new interconnecting pipeline did have a dimeter of 36 inches and a length of 55 km and was
belonging to Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS). Total capacity of the storage facility was 2.6 billion
cubic meters, whereas its reproduction capacity was designed to be 14 million m3
/day.
My responsibility in this Project was to coordinate, manage and supervise the works of the EPIC
Contractor. Furthermore, I was also involved in the following technical activities:
• Reviewing, checking, commenting and approving the engineering deliverables of the Project.

The scope of this internal Project was to set up a functional infrastructure and establish the tools for
technology and knowledge management to be used by ILF Consulting Engineers.
My responsibility as head of the technology and knowledge management department was to define and

Study on technical upgrading measures for the existing pipeline (20 inches and 203 km) covering
investigation of compliance with the German laws and technical rules or standards, determination
of measures for safe operation and increase of overall transport capacity by improvement of

Verification and investigation of construction tender design documentation covering diverse
engineering documents for system operations, hydraulics, relief philosophy and block valve
sections, alternatives for investment, operation costs for peak sharing, blending pipeline and slick

Tacaamol is the name of Company’s first complex based on core integration between a Medium Heavy Naphtha Reformer and Naphtha Cracker. Tacaamol project was developed to be implemented in stages based on Naphtha feedstock provided by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) from the nearby Takreer Ruwais Refinery and liquid Propane supply from GASCO. The first stage of Tacaamol is Tacaamol Aromatics Project (TAP) that shall produce aromatics (Xylenes, Benzene) and Light Naphtha. My responsibility on this Project was the preparation of the following deliverables for both Naphtha and Propane Pipelines: • Design Basis Memorandums for FEED of Propane Pipeline (12 inch x 15 km x 0.7 MTA) and Naphtha Pipeline (32 inch x 15 km x 3,300 m3 /h). • Pipeline Mechanical Design (FEED) Reports (Design Calculation Books) including Line Pipe Wall Thickness Calculations, Equivalent Combined Stress Calculations, Elastic Bend Radius Calculations, Anchor Force Calculations, Upheaval Buckling Calculations, Free End Expansion Calculations, Crossing Calculations for Minor Road/Track, Highway & Railway & Paved & Rig Road Crossings, Proximity or Safety Separation Distance Calculations and Flexibility Calculations. • Sectionalizing Valve Evaluation and Location Class Selection Reports. • Scraping (Pigging) Evaluation Study & Scraping Philosophy Reports. • Line Pipe Steel Grade and External Coating Materials Selection Reports. • Technical Specifications and Datasheets covering Scraper Launchers & Receivers, Barred/Scraping Tees, Bends, Anchor Flanges, Scraper Signallers, Sectionalizing and Isolating Valves, Line Pipes (SAW/HFW/SMS) and Isolating Joints. • Technical Specifications for Construction, Welding and Weld Inspection, Hydrostatic Pressure Testing, Anti-Corrosion External & Internal Coatings incl. Outcomes from this upgrade study have provided a strategic direction to the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to determine the numbers and conceptual design parameters including routes of the new pipelines (incl. flow lines and trunk lines) and to initiate subsequently a project for processing gas from ASAB’s UDR and THAMAMA "F” & “G” formations in a timely as well as cost effective manner. The Industrial Zone of KPIZ Project (KIZAD) provides fully serviced plots for developers including all roads and utilities. The Project is located in the Taweelah Area approximately 40 km northeast of Abu Dhabi. Scope of the Project was to design a network of distillate water pipelines for part of KIZAD Area A. Dr Orhan Degermenci (continued) March 30, 2016 Page 5 of 14 2015-2016, Pipeline Specialist and Project Engineer, Common Seawater Supply Pipelines Project (CSSP), Iraq, Client: South Oil Company (SOC) The goal of this Project (PMC for FEED) is to provide an initial phase (Phase 1) capacity of 7.5 million barrels of water per day (MMBWPD) of treated seawater to the oil fields in southern Iraq, with a subsequent full buildout phase of 12.5 MMBWPD. A seawater treatment facility (STF) shall be located on the west side of the Khor Al-Zubair, upstream of the port of Umm Qasr. A system of multiple seawater pipelines along with interconnecting stations and delivery stations shall deliver water from STF to various oilfields. A fuel gas pipeline shall deliver gas from an existing pipeline to STF for the purpose of power generation. The major components of the CSSP include seawater intake and outfall structures, material offloading facility, seawater clarification, filtration and deoxygenating processes, shipping pumps, several water transmission pipelines, fuel gas pipeline, power generation, utilities and early works site preparation and non-process buildings to support the facility. My responsibilities on this Project (PMC) were to coordinate engineering works of the FEED contractor covering pipelines and related stations (above ground facilities). The first field development target is the Haliba field. The Project scope includes the Combined Concept and FEED of Haliba Field Development consisting of single phase full field development and full well stream transfer to ADCO ASAB facilities for further processing through an export pipeline (20 inch) of approximately 65 km length with a maximum throughput capacity of 30,000 BOPD. Metered natural gas pipeline off-takes for national gas grids and underground gas storage have been provided in the five transit countries. The aim of the Project was to create a pipeline system for natural gas transmission from different sources in the Caspian Sea Region and the Middle East to Central Europe. Since 2015 the Turkish

My responsibility on this Project was as active member of the technical working group from five (5) different companies (BOTAS from Turkey, BEH from Bulgaria, TRANSGAZ from Rumania, MOL from Hungary, OMV from Austria and RWE from Germany) to represent the Project shareholder from Turkey (BOTAS) and to review, comment as well as approve all Project deliverables produced by the FEED Contractor (Owner’s Engineer) as per diverse engineering disciplines. My further responsibility was as active member of a technical commission within BOTAS to prepare guidelines and manuals for technical integrity of crude oil and natural gas pipelines as well as LNG and natural gas underground storage plants of Turkey with respect to engineering, design, construction, operation and abandonment as per Turkish and/or European industrial codes, standards and technical regulations. 2005, Project Manager, Underground Natural Gas Storage Plant Project, Turkey, Client: TPAO Turkish Petroleum Corporation The scope of this Project (EPIC) was to design and construct Turkey’s first natural gas underground storage plant in Silivri located near (ca. 70 km) to mega city of Istanbul. The depleted natural gas fields of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) with a capacity of 2.6 billion cubic meters (about 5% of the Turkish natural gas demand) were converted into gas storage reservoirs. A new gas pipeline of the Project was to constitute the link between existing natural gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey and this new gas storage plant. The new interconnecting pipeline did have a dimeter of 36 inches and a length of 55 km and was belonging to Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS). Total capacity of the storage facility was 2.6 billion cubic meters, whereas its reproduction capacity was designed to be 14 million m3 /day. My responsibility in this Project was to coordinate, manage and supervise the works of the EPIC Contractor.
