• Vogue magazine was founded in 1892 by Arthur Baldwin Turnure as this magazine was targeted towards the upper class in America but had
evolved into a highly successful magazine brand where almost all ages have joined the membership. The Vogue magazine is sometimes called
“fashion’s bible” as they are world leading fashion publications the vogue magazine were so ahead of their time as they would pushing the
boundaries of what a normal magazine and pushing the boundaries of fashion was, always presented in good quality, and working with
international photographer, fashion designers, stylists and more. Vogue has been known as that statement since the very first issue being
released in December 17 1892. Issues in the early years of Vogue, Turnure intentions with the magazine was to create a source of weekly
media/newspaper that consisted of celebrating the ‘ceremonial side of life’, has a newspaper that attracts the sage as well as young women from
the upper class that reached the age of maturity that has a debut formal/ball to celebrate and also men of affairs. But in the 1909 after Turnure
after his death, Vogue was purchased by Condé Montrose Nast purchased the magazine brand and started growing the magazine, but Condé
has adjusted Vogue to become a women’s magazines that involved with the increase of the price of the magazine, and inside the magazine
mainly focuses on beauty and etiquette. As Condé creating the first Vogue international editions, as Conde introduced the Vogue publication to
England and began the popular British Vogue magazine. Vogue magazine dealt with postages/ shipping issues in 1916 due to the First World
War so they couldn’t send copies of the magazine in Europe. Then eventually the popularity of the Vogue magazine started increasing popularity
and subscriptions rapidly during the ‘Great Depression’ and World War Two as they would pay respects to the tough times happening through the
covers of the magazine. Vogue in their growth of popularity of the magazine started involving photography as their covers and instead the
illustrations, the photographers gained massive attention became very iconic to Vogue and the photographs were branded as apart of Vogue’s
brand as they changed to the font to well known iconic Vogue Title that showcased and matched the classy and sophisticated of what Vogue has
been known for decades now.

• Elle Magazine the French magazine founded 1945 is world widely known for being a fashion magazine, but having lifestyle, relationship advice,
food and travel elements into their magazine and they also help their customers by creating a guide about shopping for beauty, jewellery and skin
care. Elle is another very well known fashion magazine that contains the sophistication that Vogue that has in their magazine, the Elle magazine
was made by Héléne Gordon with her husband Pierre Gordon with Héléne wanting to follow her passion and love for fashion after the end of
World War Two, although she was living in Manhattan she was writing for already establishing fashion magazines/ brands made her desire to
create her own fashion publication increased and ELLE magazine was made. The quick success of the magazine ever since the first issue
released was due to the purpose of the magazine was inspire women and built women empowerment to believe that women could change the
world and have sense of self and they have the right to wear the clothes they want, what makeup they put on themselves, accessing education
for themselves and believing on possibly succeeding in education and work by themselves, Elle was a section of foundation to evolution of
women’s rights and empowerment to independency that we know in the current day. Addressing women issues has been such an important
movement for the Elle magazine ever since the beginning and doing so they received so much recognition for doing so, as this would empower
women that were dealing with the universal depression after the World War ending, the colours changes in fashion as it became for colourful and
the empowerment of women and their independence was being more recognised and discussed as women were the ones function the world as
the men had gone off fight in the war and the women being expected to back to being the housewife after the men came back from the war
sparked a lot uproar, which was increased the uprising of feminism and the belief of women could function without a man was spoken more
loudly and the women of that time were taking stands and wanted to be heard that they deserve to same rights as men have but especially their
right to vote.

• I-D is a British magazine that contains fashion photography, music and art in their magazine, the magazine was founded/ launched in 1980 by
Terry Jones and Tricia Jones. The purpose for I-D was Terry’s idea to create a fashion magazine that involved a lot more streetwear fashion as
they also use typography in their magazine which wasn’t really common in fashion magazine to create an distinctive look their magazine as that
was the focus of I-D magazine. The I-D mission/ purpose was project and represent and the new wave post-punk fashion as Terry had at that
time has just left Vogue magazine of being the director of British Vogue, his intentions with I-D magazine was to create a magazine that very
much a contrast to fashion magazine of the current times in the 80s especially to really contrast his magazine to the Vogue magazine where
fashion is less glamorous and sophisticated as Terry felt there wasn’t much representation of the streetwear, punk and fashion that was popular
with of people that didn’t money to but extravagant and big label fashion brands as bringing those kind of topics and ideas to Vogue were turned
down and not approved, this inspired Terry to make his own magazine that showcased his ideas that were once rejected. I-D magazine was more
targeted to the youth as only fashion magazine at that time catered to older women, there wasn’t much representation of youth fashion which
made the magazine already very different to other fashion magazines, as their fist issues were sold for 50p and the whole magazine was written
and create through a typewriter and stapled together as the magazine was also originally started off as a fanzine, gradually built a name with their
magazine with inclusion of unique styling of models, and photography styles helped well known photographers such as Mario Testino and Nick
Knight start their careers in the photography industry. I-D’s style in their magazine began with having a 80s punk elements in their magazine
which was really engaging and made the magazine much more interesting look to the magazine, as going with style in their magazine was good
element of marketing to an audience as there was such a large community of punk lovers and people who loved the punk fashion which i-d were
reaching their target audience with art style they going for and the type of fashion they were showcasing on their front covers and in the
magazine, with the inclusion of typography was another intriguing aspect of the magazine as they would present the images of models including
typography that match the fashion they are showcasing in their products was another unique point of the fashion magazine and its popularity.
Although i-d magazine didn’t immediate success initially the hard work paid off as they are now one of most well known magazines in 2022 and
are highly praised by the youth for their unique way of showing off fashion, music and art as well known celebrities and models are now featured
on the magazine such as Matty Healy from the band The 1975, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Pharrel Williams, Willow Smith, Timothee Chalamet and
more.

Women’s Fashion
• The earliest time frame of fashion I will be researching will be from 1900s, fashion in the 1900s was highly influenced or very fixated on
designers from Paris as Paris is well known for being the capital of fashion but with the addition of London having an influence but not to
the same extent. Fashion in the 20th century contained with corsets but specifically in this era it was a trend or need to for women in
fashion to wear a corset that would create a ‘S’ shape which was called a ‘S-bend’, these corsets were advertise for health benefits
which it wasn’t, the corset would be designed where the women would have to squeeze their waist down to fit in 20 inches or even less
and push the upper body forward as the corsets also pushes the hips back forcing to create the ‘S’ shape along the woman’s back. As
these corsets were such a safety hazard as the corsets were boned corset which meant that they were made rigid and inflexible
structure to form the desired body of the ‘S bend’ which was causes woman issues with abdomen issues as ribs were being
crushed/forces which gave less room for women to breathe, it would also cause back issues for women as they supposed be fitted into
those boned corsets and wear them all day and sit down in them that was which would cause issues with their back as there is no room
for the women to move freely. But eventually corset became out trend to be worn as the fashion transitioned into the 1910s where
fashion evolved to be more colourful with adding layers of different patterned materials as skirts with a higher waist band started to fade
out in fashion, dresses became more extravagant. But progression to the beginning of World War One started the fashion shifted to
significant amount as women were now forced to work there was a demand from women of new styling of what women will wear when
working because of wearing full length dresses to the ankles isn’t productive or functional for women to wear when working in factories,
as shirtwaists dresses were introduced where the length of the dresses were cut down to mid calf but with these dresses colour
schemes were a lot more darker with setting the mood of the time and with the increase of funerals and visits to the injured solders, the
colour of dresses were kept dark and plain. There was a change in fashion as World War One ending, some fabric of clothing that used
to considered luxurious became more affordable and people started creating their own dresses, creating your garments became very
common around this time as women started to experiment with the fabrics and creating more unique looks that sometimes were frowned
upon. The 1920s fashion trend was flapper dresses, flapper dresses were extremely popular as they were designed where the arms
were left bare, loose fitting of the dress and usually accessorised with pearls necklaces and fur coats. The sophisticated look in fashion
for women continued into 1930s but there was so much more emphasis on being sophisticated as Hollywood movie influenced fashion
at the time, dresses being to mid-calf length with a V-neck, sometimes with lace accents on the dress and then eventually silk dresses
were more fashionable towards the end of 1930s. Pastel colours but deep colours such as maroon and plum were worn and then
accessorised with brimmed hats, gloves and handbags, but with evening gowns elbow gloves were often worn with them. Fashion in the
1940s was the beginning of the change in women’s fashion as fashion in this time period was becoming more scandalous as World War
Two was affecting the amount of fabric being used for clothing as dresses in the day were showing barely any skin then evening
dresses/gowns were seen the opposite at thy time these dresses considered risky, the evening dresses were designed where it had
spaghetti straps and showing shoulders and chest.

• But also in the 40s shoulder pads became more popular and were put in blazers, but with jackets, blouses shoulders were often
come with shoulder pads. The 1950s in women fashion went back to more the luxurious side again as bold colours and various
patterns have continued on into this decade, different materials such as nylon, wool and leather. The design in this fashion era
were pencil skirts, poodle skirts, various items of clothing in the polka dots pattern, cropped cardigan and more. This fashion time
period was to showcase and make emphasis women’s silhouette, the hourglass. This time for fashion was very inspired by the
type of music being made at the time which was rock, due to the popularity of rock music as especially with teenagers there was a
developed aesthetic and outfits designs in relation to rock. The outfits usually consisted with swing dresses, fitted pencil skirts,
poodle skirts, bullet bras but also wearing leather trousers became more popular with women as the famous movie Grease when
realised inspired and evolved the fashion with women even more, the ‘greaser fashion’ as some may called was a massive
change in fashion for women as this style of fashion was edgier rebelling to the past fashion trends as especially women wearing
trousers was in a way ground breaking for women’s fashion as for past decades women were always expected to wear skirts all
the time and were expected to wear them at a certain length and they didn’t they would be terrorised and degraded for it, women
starting to wear trousers in this time period was really important as it also showed the change in society. But that was just the
beginning with the 50s with starting to rebel the old rules of fashion for women, the 1960s was a key decade as to where
traditional clothing was pushed out, clothing was inspired by younger adults and teenagers. The Fashion designer Many Quant
influenced and brought miniskirts into the 60s, wearing miniskirt was a stable piece to the rebellion in the 60s as these skirts were
also worn colourful tights instead stockings for being more practical when wearing the mini skirt. 60s fashion showed the free
spirited mindset that people were coming to. Shifted dresses were very popular and would considered the signature 60s look as
they consisted of the dress being cut short, a shapeless dress, with patterns and involved different colour patterns. 70s fashion
was very recognised and talked about being the “fun” era of fashion as this involved some elements of 60s fashion such the shift
dresses but in the 1970s made the dresses vibrant/ flamboyant. Clothing in the 70s were inspired but menswear as women were
getting more freedom to wear whatever they want that didn’t consisted just wearing a dresses and skirts, clothing for women in
the 70s consisted of wearing trousers and suit as the first tuxedo that was catered to women by a designer was Yvette Saint
Laurent. At first of course when first released it was received negatively but still in the early 70s actress Bianca Jagger wore the
tuxedo and has thought to be the one who had popularised tuxedos. Then later on the mid 70s the well known ‘disco’ style came
to light as disco was being talked about in famous magazine such the Rolling Stones, disco music was all listened to and that was
fashion statement for majority of the 70s. Moving onto the 1980s fashion was a variety of fashion where moving from disco from
70s into active wear, hip-hop fashion and punk fashion mainly were the main fashion styles people were dressing as.
Active/sports wear became more popular in the 80s as the clothing was made out comfortable material and exercise videos were
also on the rising with Jennifer Beals’ outfit for her movie Flash dance heavily influenced the iconic 80s women’s sportswear the
off-the-shoulder sweatshirt and leggings. Hip-hop fashion first originated by black people as it was movement for the black
community as to showcase the Afrocentrism style through clothing and hair, using African prints in the colours red, yellow and
green as with the hip-hop style would also associated with B-boy style such wearing bucket hats, plate necklaces of different
sizes, branded sneakers and also denim on denim with colourful shirts was also often worn.
Audience and Statistics
• Above have shown three different sources that talk about Generation Z but ‘Gen Z’ for short as I didn’t have time to make survey and sent out to target audience I decided
the best way I could research about target audience aside from a survey is look at different sources of where my target audience lie in which generation find and base my
target audience base of the statics I’ve seen and I think because I am also apart of the target audience that I am wanting to point towards, I have an upper with the knowing
what certain things and areas my target audience will be interested in. And my target audience lie in ‘Gen Z’ generation which is an advantage my end as in my previous
collab project ‘THE GRID’ I had done some research already about ‘Gen Z’ and had created an audience profile which means I have some knowledge already about ‘gen z’.
But as the three sources above show three different that I think that are important to me in this project as the first sources shows the percentages/ statistics now and
predictions of the years to come about the digital consumption and how it is constantly increasing and rapidly increase which is with that has its positives and negatives as
this is can have a negative affect on the economy but for my case this works positively in the way of that people in my target audience are the main consumers that
business are producing and advertising products to, which matters that I know that because it shows and lets me know that the target group I am trying to advertise or
showcase to are not too out hand or reach as most companies are trying to target them as to be possible consumers for their products. As I know people in my target
audience which are in the ages 16-21, that are ‘gen z’ and with information I already from the grid is that a lot people that age group are on the internet which is helpful and
an advantage for as I am creating an online magazine so my content will easy and Accessible to them, and as the source says the people in my target audience use
Internet connected devices to primarily chat and text is important to notice as I could advertise or create my work and magazine to fit around technology and Internetlike
content as that I think would intrigue my target audience and lastly with the third source here talks about the love that Gen Z have for early 2000s or white two kid fashion
is important as I am planning to have one of my themes in my magazine to be around that topic so it is important that I take acknowledgement that this certain topic is very
much liked within my target audience which means I am targeting my audience when I am creating my magazine
Production
Method
• After the amount of research i have done on various aspects of fashion, fashion magazine but especially women’s fashion, when
creating my own fashion magazine although it won’t be target towards women, my product will a highly feminine magazine and
to anyone of any gender that enjoys feminine fashion and femininity is welcome. With no specific gender targeted towards my
magazine my magazine will have age targeted of the ages of 16-21 as the elements i will be having in my magazine will not meet
the target audience of any older than 21 as my intentions with the magazine design and display with have more essence of
youthful connotations in there. With my magazine with having three theme different themes that are all different from each other
in the style of clothing and also the graphic design aspect, my intention with magazine is to showcase the different styles of
editing i can do and also do different styling of the model to show versatility in my model too. My editing style for the concepts will
be vary as they all consists of different colour schemes as the Y2K will consist of variations of the colour pink and just white and
the art style for my magazines for pages that will consists the Y2K aesthetic will be having elements of the old technology of the
early 2000s such as the windows tab and scrapbook effect on the images as I think going down that path with the editing style
will be meeting the standards of the Y2K style and with the audience research I have done that my intent with the Y2K will be
targeting the right audience for it. My editing method for the euphoria concept with colour schemes will involve colours of the
main three colours, purple blue and pink and the magazine design I will be going for the pages will consist of illusion-like edit
form on the pages or with the text on having the text altered to look “trippy” to fit the concept of what euphoria is, so there may
typography involved in this section of the magazine but I've not made a final decision yet on it. The cottage core concept and my
editing style magazine design for this section will have the colour schemes involves beige, light blue, yellows and more colours
that link to nature and the magazine pages will consist of one of pages having a website home page to it as if you were looking
at floral website but instead will be and other pages will be based on a historical page about someone but instead will be my
model and an article on the side stating about the aesthetic of cottage core.

The Evolution of Women's Fashion from 1900s to 1920s

Existing Product #1 • Vogue magazine was founded in 1892 by Arthur Baldwin Turnure as this magazine was targeted towards the upper class in America but had evolved into a highly successful magazine brand where almost all ages have joined the membership. The Vogue magazine is sometimes called “fashion’s bible” as they are world leading fashion publications the vogue magazine were so ahead of their time as they would pushing the boundaries of what a normal magazine and pushing the boundaries of fashion was, always presented in good quality, and working with international photographer, fashion designers, stylists and more. Vogue has been known as that statement since the very first issue being released in December 17 1892. Issues in the early years of Vogue, Turnure intentions with the magazine was to create a source of weekly media/newspaper that consisted of celebrating the ‘ceremonial side of life’, has a newspaper that attracts the sage as well as young women from the upper class that reached the age of maturity that has a debut formal/ball to celebrate and also men of affairs. But in the 1909 after Turnure after his death, Vogue was purchased by Condé Montrose Nast purchased the magazine brand and started growing the magazine, but Condé has adjusted Vogue to become a women’s magazines that involved with the increase of the price of the magazine, and inside the magazine mainly focuses on beauty and etiquette. As Condé creating the first Vogue international editions, as Conde introduced the Vogue publication to England and began the popular British Vogue magazine. Vogue magazine dealt with postages/ shipping issues in 1916 due to the First World War so they couldn’t send copies of the magazine in Europe. Then eventually the popularity of the Vogue magazine started increasing popularity and subscriptions rapidly during the ‘Great Depression’ and World War Two as they would pay respects to the tough times happening through the covers of the magazine. Vogue in their growth of popularity of the magazine started involving photography as their covers and instead the illustrations, the photographers gained massive attention became very iconic to Vogue and the photographs were branded as apart of Vogue’s brand as they changed to the font to well known iconic Vogue Title that showcased and matched the classy and sophisticated of what Vogue has been known for decades now.

Existing Product #2 • Elle Magazine the French magazine founded 1945 is world widely known for being a fashion magazine, but having lifestyle, relationship advice, food and travel elements into their magazine and they also help their customers by creating a guide about shopping for beauty, jewellery and skin care. Elle is another very well known fashion magazine that contains the sophistication that Vogue that has in their magazine, the Elle magazine was made by Héléne Gordon with her husband Pierre Gordon with Héléne wanting to follow her passion and love for fashion after the end of World War Two, although she was living in Manhattan she was writing for already establishing fashion magazines/ brands made her desire to create her own fashion publication increased and ELLE magazine was made. The quick success of the magazine ever since the first issue released was due to the purpose of the magazine was inspire women and built women empowerment to believe that women could change the world and have sense of self and they have the right to wear the clothes they want, what makeup they put on themselves, accessing education for themselves and believing on possibly succeeding in education and work by themselves, Elle was a section of foundation to evolution of women’s rights and empowerment to independency that we know in the current day. Addressing women issues has been such an important movement for the Elle magazine ever since the beginning and doing so they received so much recognition for doing so, as this would empower women that were dealing with the universal depression after the World War ending, the colours changes in fashion as it became for colourful and the empowerment of women and their independence was being more recognised and discussed as women were the ones function the world as the men had gone off fight in the war and the women being expected to back to being the housewife after the men came back from the war sparked a lot uproar, which was increased the uprising of feminism and the belief of women could function without a man was spoken more loudly and the women of that time were taking stands and wanted to be heard that they deserve to same rights as men have but especially their right to vote.
  • 4. Existing Product #3 • I-D is a British magazine that contains fashion photography, music and art in their magazine, the magazine was founded/ launched in 1980 by Terry Jones and Tricia Jones. The purpose for I-D was Terry’s idea to create a fashion magazine that involved a lot more streetwear fashion as they also use typography in their magazine which wasn’t really common in fashion magazine to create an distinctive look their magazine as that was the focus of I-D magazine. The I-D mission/ purpose was project and represent and the new wave post-punk fashion as Terry had at that time has just left Vogue magazine of being the director of British Vogue, his intentions with I-D magazine was to create a magazine that very much a contrast to fashion magazine of the current times in the 80s especially to really contrast his magazine to the Vogue magazine where fashion is less glamorous and sophisticated as Terry felt there wasn’t much representation of the streetwear, punk and fashion that was popular with of people that didn’t money to but extravagant and big label fashion brands as bringing those kind of topics and ideas to Vogue were turned down and not approved, this inspired Terry to make his own magazine that showcased his ideas that were once rejected. I-D magazine was more targeted to the youth as only fashion magazine at that time catered to older women, there wasn’t much representation of youth fashion which made the magazine already very different to other fashion magazines, as their fist issues were sold for 50p and the whole magazine was written and create through a typewriter and stapled together as the magazine was also originally started off as a fanzine, gradually built a name with their magazine with inclusion of unique styling of models, and photography styles helped well known photographers such as Mario Testino and Nick Knight start their careers in the photography industry. I-D’s style in their magazine began with having a 80s punk elements in their magazine which was really engaging and made the magazine much more interesting look to the magazine, as going with style in their magazine was good element of marketing to an audience as there was such a large community of punk lovers and people who loved the punk fashion which i-d were reaching their target audience with art style they going for and the type of fashion they were showcasing on their front covers and in the magazine, with the inclusion of typography was another intriguing aspect of the magazine as they would present the images of models including typography that match the fashion they are showcasing in their products was another unique point of the fashion magazine and its popularity. Although i-d magazine didn’t immediate success initially the hard work paid off as they are now one of most well known magazines in 2022 and are highly praised by the youth for their unique way of showing off fashion, music and art as well known celebrities and models are now featured on the magazine such as Matty Healy from the band The 1975, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Pharrel Williams, Willow Smith, Timothee Chalamet and more.

The Evolution & History Of Women’s Fashion • The earliest time frame of fashion I will be researching will be from 1900s, fashion in the 1900s was highly influenced or very fixated on designers from Paris as Paris is well known for being the capital of fashion but with the addition of London having an influence but not to the same extent. Fashion in the 20th century contained with corsets but specifically in this era it was a trend or need to for women in fashion to wear a corset that would create a ‘S’ shape which was called a ‘S-bend’, these corsets were advertise for health benefits which it wasn’t, the corset would be designed where the women would have to squeeze their waist down to fit in 20 inches or even less and push the upper body forward as the corsets also pushes the hips back forcing to create the ‘S’ shape along the woman’s back. As these corsets were such a safety hazard as the corsets were boned corset which meant that they were made rigid and inflexible structure to form the desired body of the ‘S bend’ which was causes woman issues with abdomen issues as ribs were being crushed/forces which gave less room for women to breathe, it would also cause back issues for women as they supposed be fitted into those boned corsets and wear them all day and sit down in them that was which would cause issues with their back as there is no room for the women to move freely. But eventually corset became out trend to be worn as the fashion transitioned into the 1910s where fashion evolved to be more colourful with adding layers of different patterned materials as skirts with a higher waist band started to fade out in fashion, dresses became more extravagant. But progression to the beginning of World War One started the fashion shifted to significant amount as women were now forced to work there was a demand from women of new styling of what women will wear when working because of wearing full length dresses to the ankles isn’t productive or functional for women to wear when working in factories, as shirtwaists dresses were introduced where the length of the dresses were cut down to mid calf but with these dresses colour schemes were a lot more darker with setting the mood of the time and with the increase of funerals and visits to the injured solders, the colour of dresses were kept dark and plain. There was a change in fashion as World War One ending, some fabric of clothing that used to considered luxurious became more affordable and people started creating their own dresses, creating your garments became very common around this time as women started to experiment with the fabrics and creating more unique looks that sometimes were frowned upon. The 1920s fashion trend was flapper dresses, flapper dresses were extremely popular as they were designed where the arms were left bare, loose fitting of the dress and usually accessorised with pearls necklaces and fur coats. The sophisticated look in fashion for women continued into 1930s but there was so much more emphasis on being sophisticated as Hollywood movie influenced fashion at the time, dresses being to mid-calf length with a V-neck, sometimes with lace accents on the dress and then eventually silk dresses were more fashionable towards the end of 1930s. Pastel colours but deep colours such as maroon and plum were worn and then accessorised with brimmed hats, gloves and handbags, but with evening gowns elbow gloves were often worn with them. Fashion in the 1940s was the beginning of the change in women’s fashion as fashion in this time period was becoming more scandalous as World War Two was affecting the amount of fabric being used for clothing as dresses in the day were showing barely any skin then evening dresses/gowns were seen the opposite at thy time these dresses considered risky, the evening dresses were designed where it had spaghetti straps and showing shoulders and chest.

The Evolution & History Of Women’s Fashion • But also in the 40s shoulder pads became more popular and were put in blazers, but with jackets, blouses shoulders were often come with shoulder pads. The 1950s in women fashion went back to more the luxurious side again as bold colours and various patterns have continued on into this decade, different materials such as nylon, wool and leather. The design in this fashion era were pencil skirts, poodle skirts, various items of clothing in the polka dots pattern, cropped cardigan and more. This fashion time period was to showcase and make emphasis women’s silhouette, the hourglass. This time for fashion was very inspired by the type of music being made at the time which was rock, due to the popularity of rock music as especially with teenagers there was a developed aesthetic and outfits designs in relation to rock. The outfits usually consisted with swing dresses, fitted pencil skirts, poodle skirts, bullet bras but also wearing leather trousers became more popular with women as the famous movie Grease when realised inspired and evolved the fashion with women even more, the ‘greaser fashion’ as some may called was a massive change in fashion for women as this style of fashion was edgier rebelling to the past fashion trends as especially women wearing trousers was in a way ground breaking for women’s fashion as for past decades women were always expected to wear skirts all the time and were expected to wear them at a certain length and they didn’t they would be terrorised and degraded for it, women starting to wear trousers in this time period was really important as it also showed the change in society. But that was just the beginning with the 50s with starting to rebel the old rules of fashion for women, the 1960s was a key decade as to where traditional clothing was pushed out, clothing was inspired by younger adults and teenagers. The Fashion designer Many Quant influenced and brought miniskirts into the 60s, wearing miniskirt was a stable piece to the rebellion in the 60s as these skirts were also worn colourful tights instead stockings for being more practical when wearing the mini skirt. 60s fashion showed the free spirited mindset that people were coming to. Shifted dresses were very popular and would considered the signature 60s look as they consisted of the dress being cut short, a shapeless dress, with patterns and involved different colour patterns. 70s fashion was very recognised and talked about being the “fun” era of fashion as this involved some elements of 60s fashion such the shift dresses but in the 1970s made the dresses vibrant/ flamboyant. Clothing in the 70s were inspired but menswear as women were getting more freedom to wear whatever they want that didn’t consisted just wearing a dresses and skirts, clothing for women in the 70s consisted of wearing trousers and suit as the first tuxedo that was catered to women by a designer was Yvette Saint Laurent. At first of course when first released it was received negatively but still in the early 70s actress Bianca Jagger wore the tuxedo and has thought to be the one who had popularised tuxedos. Then later on the mid 70s the well known ‘disco’ style came to light as disco was being talked about in famous magazine such the Rolling Stones, disco music was all listened to and that was fashion statement for majority of the 70s. Moving onto the 1980s fashion was a variety of fashion where moving from disco from 70s into active wear, hip-hop fashion and punk fashion mainly were the main fashion styles people were dressing as. Active/sports wear became more popular in the 80s as the clothing was made out comfortable material and exercise videos were also on the rising with Jennifer Beals’ outfit for her movie Flash dance heavily influenced the iconic 80s women’s sportswear the off-the-shoulder sweatshirt and leggings. Hip-hop fashion first originated by black people as it was movement for the black community as to showcase the Afrocentrism style through clothing and hair, using African prints in the colours red, yellow and green as with the hip-hop style would also associated with B-boy style such wearing bucket hats, plate necklaces of different sizes, branded sneakers and also denim on denim with colourful shirts was also often worn.

Audience and Statistics • Above have shown three different sources that talk about Generation Z but ‘Gen Z’ for short as I didn’t have time to make survey and sent out to target audience I decided the best way I could research about target audience aside from a survey is look at different sources of where my target audience lie in which generation find and base my target audience base of the statics I’ve seen and I think because I am also apart of the target audience that I am wanting to point towards, I have an upper with the knowing what certain things and areas my target audience will be interested in. And my target audience lie in ‘Gen Z’ generation which is an advantage my end as in my previous collab project ‘THE GRID’ I had done some research already about ‘Gen Z’ and had created an audience profile which means I have some knowledge already about ‘gen z’. But as the three sources above show three different that I think that are important to me in this project as the first sources shows the percentages/ statistics now and predictions of the years to come about the digital consumption and how it is constantly increasing and rapidly increase which is with that has its positives and negatives as this is can have a negative affect on the economy but for my case this works positively in the way of that people in my target audience are the main consumers that business are producing and advertising products to, which matters that I know that because it shows and lets me know that the target group I am trying to advertise or showcase to are not too out hand or reach as most companies are trying to target them as to be possible consumers for their products. As I know people in my target audience which are in the ages 16-21, that are ‘gen z’ and with information I already from the grid is that a lot people that age group are on the internet which is helpful and an advantage for as I am creating an online magazine so my content will easy and Accessible to them, and as the source says the people in my target audience use Internet connected devices to primarily chat and text is important to notice as I could advertise or create my work and magazine to fit around technology and Internetlike content as that I think would intrigue my target audience and lastly with the third source here talks about the love that Gen Z have for early 2000s or white two kid fashion is important as I am planning to have one of my themes in my magazine to be around that topic so it is important that I take acknowledgement that this certain topic is very much liked within my target audience which means I am targeting my audience when I am creating my magazine

Production Method • After the amount of research i have done on various aspects of fashion, fashion magazine but especially women’s fashion, when creating my own fashion magazine although it won’t be target towards women, my product will a highly feminine magazine and to anyone of any gender that enjoys feminine fashion and femininity is welcome. With no specific gender targeted towards my magazine my magazine will have age targeted of the ages of 16-21 as the elements i will be having in my magazine will not meet the target audience of any older than 21 as my intentions with the magazine design and display with have more essence of youthful connotations in there. With my magazine with having three theme different themes that are all different from each other in the style of clothing and also the graphic design aspect, my intention with magazine is to showcase the different styles of editing i can do and also do different styling of the model to show versatility in my model too. My editing style for the concepts will be vary as they all consists of different colour schemes as the Y2K will consist of variations of the colour pink and just white and the art style for my magazines for pages that will consists the Y2K aesthetic will be having elements of the old technology of the early 2000s such as the windows tab and scrapbook effect on the images as I think going down that path with the editing style will be meeting the standards of the Y2K style and with the audience research I have done that my intent with the Y2K will be targeting the right audience for it. My editing method for the euphoria concept with colour schemes will involve colours of the main three colours, purple blue and pink and the magazine design I will be going for the pages will consist of illusion-like edit form on the pages or with the text on having the text altered to look “trippy” to fit the concept of what euphoria is, so there may typography involved in this section of the magazine but I've not made a final decision yet on it. The cottage core concept and my editing style magazine design for this section will have the colour schemes involves beige, light blue, yellows and more colours that link to nature and the magazine pages will consist of one of pages having a website home page to it as if you were looking at floral website but instead will be and other pages will be based on a historical page about someone but instead will be my model and an article on the side stating about the aesthetic of cottage core.
