2.  Cultural study examines power
relationship also it emphasis on it.
For the Example , cultural studies
and its critics assume oppositional
roles . Wherever they might be
found.
 In this play some marginalized
character.
 we have not been given enough
importance and those who should
have been given recognition in
their lives.
 Hamlet is “ Play within the play “.

3.  So cultural study given us a view from history
and historical events or incidents.
 Marginalized character had been ignored.
 Their noble characteristics had been suppressed
in spit of having morality and high moral values
where as hero from royal and wealthy families
were being described an noble character in spite
of king immoral and inconstant people so
cultural study wants us to have a look at these
marginalized character.

4. Incapable of functioning
Independently.
 Basically one character.
 Suck up to king claudius.
 Represents Amusements.
 major characters in play.

5.  They were sent by Hamlet.
 They were dishonest & incompetent.
 To give less importance .
 Childhood friends of Hamlet .
 Created as Negative characters.

6.  Spy on Hamlet .
 Unfaithful to Friends to foul ends.
 Shows that “All the evil doers get what they
deserve “.
 In the end of the play both found as dead after
death of the Royal family.

7.  In the Act – v , Hamlet utters that they were
nor nearer to his soul.
 Tom Stoppard write the Absurd Theatre :
“Rosencrantz and Guildestern are dead “.
 This was full of Absurdity.
 it is to note that the essence of
marginalization is here Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern are archetypal human beings
 In this play Rosencrantz and Guildestern are
powerless.

8.  Rosencrantz delievers speech ,
“ The Singular and Peculiar life is bound with all
the strength and armor of the mind.
To keep itself from noyance..........
Each small annexment , petty, consequence
Attends the boisterous run , Never alone
Did the king sight but with a general groan”.
