Personal Statement
Further to completing my HNC qualification in Marine Engineering as a cadet within The
Merchant Navy. As part of this I have completed a cadetship in which I have spent 3 years
combining my studies with over 8 months at sea. During my sea time I was onboard 4
different vessels, spending a minimum of 28 days on each, the first 3 were standby vessels
and the last a platform supply vessel. I have also received extensive training in workshop
facilities.

Vessel Experience
Grampian Sceptre Platform Supply Vessel (Diesel Electric) Aug 2015 – Feb 2016
Time split over 3 trips, where I completed my training as an Engineering Officer.
Duties Included:
 Operating all Ships systems
 Maintaining the mechanical rotating and static equipment
 Daily checks of all ships machinery
 Carrying out all planned maintenance
 Overhauling fuel injectors on main diesel engine
 Overhauling centrifugal purifiers & centrifugal pump
 Fuel Transfer
 Bunkering

2.  Changing fuel & water filters
 Jacket Cooling Water Tests ( Ph,, Chloride and Nitrates)
 Tracing Electrical diagrams for alarm testing and fault finding
 All daily check lists & risk assessments
