Work Description for all Dockyards:
I was assigned in fitting shop (inside and outside), machine shop, welding shop, electrical
shop and drawing shop. In fitting shop, I had to work repairing and refitting of propellers and
rudders, opening up, overhauling and re-boxing up of sea valves, dismantling, overhauling
and refitting of main and auxiliary engine. When I was in machine shop, I gained wide
knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. I
had learned how to weld gas welding, electric arc welding and manage in safety and health
while I was at welding shop. I also learned in checking, testing, and maintaining automatic
controls and alarm systems, opening up, overhauling and re-boxing up of motors and
generators.
