Reporting to the Subsea Engineer and Subsea Supervisor I am tasked carrying out maintenance of
all Subsea related equipment, daily monitoring of the system and ensuring is maximum efficiency,
fault finding and repair/ refurbishment of hydraulic systems, cylinders and operators, SPM and
CCSV valves, Shuttle valves, hydraulic swivels, Ram block and cavity maintenance, spherical annular
maintenance and repair etc… I must ensure that Between Well Maintenances are completed to
Seadrill, API and OEM standards, strict timelines are met and that health and safety is at the
forefront always.Working on a range of equipment including, 15M 18 3/4 Shaffer BOP stack, NOV
MRT’s, Dril Quip DX connectors CMC’s, Olmstead valves, Shaffer 21 1/4 Diverter system, to name a
few. I enjoy the challenges that the Subsea department brings to my career and hope to pursue the
position of Subsea Engineer in the near future.

As the Hydraulic Technician I was tasked with responding to breakdowns around the Drill Ship,
working through and providing fast and effective solutions to problems in the high pressure offshore
production environment.To carry out routine and planned maintenance schedules set out by both
Seadrill and the OEM. I must adhere to health and safety guidelines and legislation, following the
permit to work system at all times; working through fault diagnosis on the range of hydraulically
powered machinery on board including; hydraulic hose fabrication, valve strip and overhaul, hy-
draulic cylinder strip and overhaul, pressure testing, Accumulator strip overhaul and charging, to
mention but a few. I will assist when required in all manner of the drilling procedure, often becoming
involved with the Subsea department on major tasks.

During my time on the West Capella I have been involved heavily with the Subsea Department;
working alongside the Engineers and trainees to perform numerous tasks including the following:

permit to work system at all times. I regularly work alongside the Hydraulic Technician working
through fault diagnosis on the range of hydraulically powered machinery on board. I will assist when
required in all manner of the drilling procedure, often becoming involved with the Subsea depart-

As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor I had ensure that Health & Safety Legislation, Risk As-
sessment and CPL Managers Rules are adhered to at all times.
Under my area of responsibility were eight Mechanics, three Electricians, two Fabricators and two
Fitters Mates. My role and responsibilities are to organise, plan and perform OEM and CPL recom-
mended mechanical maintenance routines and follow the permit to work system.To ensure both safe
and smooth operations of the fleet of hydraulic and pneumatic production machinery, carrying out
major mining equipment repairs and overhauls and attending major machine breakdowns. I was also
responsible for the Management of stock, budget, resources and supplies using the SAP system, as
well as, the training and progression of the apprenticeship program .The team works within the high
pressure continuous production environment day to day and I reported directly to the Chief Engi-
neer.
Production Mechanic, Cleveland Potash Ltd. UK— June 2004-July 2010
Working as the sole mechanical craftsman deployed to the mining face line area, ensuring that the
production mining machinery was of a safe, sound mechanical condition prior to beginning mining
operations by conducting pre-use checks and servicing.To carry out ‘running’ repairs as and when
breakdowns occur, including any necessary fault finding procedures.To respond to any mining team
machinery concerns, ensuring maximum machine availability in the high pressure continuous
production environment.
Mechanic/ Acting Supervisor, Cleveland Potash Ltd. UK — October 2003-June 2004
Working alongside other members of the maintenance team to maintain and repair the fleet of
hydraulic and pneumatic mining machinery used within the production face line.Typical duties
would include performing OEM and CPL recommended mechanical maintenance procedures;
carrying out major mining equipment repairs and overhauls (continuos miners, shuttle-cars, bolting
rigs, exploration rigs, crusher feeders and flexible conveyor trains),attend major mining machine
breakdowns such as gear box failure, drive chain changes, hydraulic pump repair, hydraulic actuator
replacement and hydraulic failures. During this period I was appointed as the Acting Mechanical
Supervisor carrying out the role as above when required.
Underground Pump Mechanic, Cleveland Potash Ltd. UK— September 2002-October
2003
Involved all aspects of maintaining the pumping infrastructure handling both clean water
reticulation in and dirty mine brine out of the mine.Working on a wide range of pumping equipment
including high head multi-stage centrifugal, standard centrifugal slurry and mud pumps, semi-
submersibles and compressed air peristaltic. For the last year in this position I was appointed as the
Acting Supervisor requiring me to plan and execute all tasks required of the Pump Mechanical
Supervisor with care and due diligence, supervising a team of six mechanics and two mates ensuring
that health and safety legislation and CPL managers rules were adhered to at all times.
4. Diesel Workshop Mechanic, Cleveland Potash Ltd. UK — July 2002-September 2002
Working within a team of mechanical and electrical craftsmen to ensure the diesel fleet was kept
serviceable through a system of planned maintenance and repair, attending breakdowns on all diesel
vehicles and ancillary equipment and fault finding. Carrying out major equipment overhauls such as
engine and axle replacement and to complete planned mechanical preventative maintenance.
Workshop Mechanic, Cleveland Rotary Engineering UK — May 2002-July2002
Responsible for carrying out the refurbishment and repair of numerous components and machinery,
as those listed below. Completing fabrication work as well as mechanical repair on a number of sites.
Apprentice Mechanic, Cleveland Rotary Engineering UK — September 1998-May 2002
Working through a four year apprenticeship covering all aspects of mechanical maintenance, I was
required to work through strict criteria in order to complete my training. During my apprenticeship I
was trained to carry out maintenance and repair on a wide range of machinery, learning how to use
dynamic balancing equipment to fabrication and refurbishment of Centrifugal pumps, separation
systems, valves, gearboxes, impellers and agitators and hydraulic motors. I was required to work on a
number of different sites including Teesside Wilton Chemical plant as well as the workshop floor.
