2. The Brightspace Matrix – Why?
After successful transition to Brightspace, we aim to help increase
educational quality through the use of Brightspace.
The Matrix gives concrete shape to this aim in providing an
instrument that helps teachers to make the most of their
Brightspace course, thereby enhancing student learning.
3. The Brightspace Matrix – What?
• The Matrix is a rubric describing the elements that all TU Delft
courses have in common.
• Three levels: non existent/too limited, basic and advanced.
• Explanation of the importance of each element from a
student’s perspective.
• Best practice examples for each element.
• Links to the how-to page on the Brightspace Support website.

• Designed to evaluate and enhance an existing Brightspace
course
• Can also be used when creating a new course
• Individual use by lecturer
• Workshop material (e.g. evaluate course in pairs)
• Instrument in course evaluations / performance interviews
