These are all good goals, but let me challenge you to think deeper, think persistence! Learner persistence, what is it that drives learner persistence? Research has shown that persistence at task level – may lead to better and deeper learning. So how do we support that? Instructional designers - monitor the difficulty of individual learning tasks Educators - motivate learners to complete learning tasks and not rely solely on intrinsic motivation. Jonathan Kinsey, instructional designer at Collegis Education states, “Learner persistence measures the learners activity and engagement.”
