2. This photo shows me, on the floor, getting a low angle picture of my
artist. He is wearing the same clothing as shown before in the
photoshoot plans. I used a Cannon 700 D camera throughout the
photo shoot. I felt that this was a good camera and helped enhance
the quality of my photos shown in my final product however, I didn’t
use any special lighting or equipment, such as a tripod, for the shoot
as I felt it was unnecessary to do so as I needed to use certain angles
for my photos. As it was cold that night, we wrapped up warm for
the occasion. The big jacket, black clothes within the genre
conventions. The brands such as Elesse and Nike a long with fashion
accessories such as a necklace would entice potential buyers who
like grime music. The location shown in the picture is the primary
location of my shoot which also fitted in with the codes and
conventions of grime. The negative connotations of graffiti match
with those of grime. Many people have a certain mentality to grime
and graffiti in that it has a connection with the lower class. We pretty
much occupied the whole underpass and because it is a public place,
we had to be polite and respect other members of the public who
were walking past. Although we went above the underpass, we were
careful so that we didn’t fall off so I got my artist to sit down for
extra safety. This is shown in the risk assessment. The time of day
helped give my photoshoot an edgier look as the darkness fits in with
the all black clothing helping the artist seem dangerous. To help
magnify this I got my actor to use gun signs which is a common sign
within the grime genre and again makes him look dangerous. As it
was quite late at night, it was very dark in the wooded area. Because
of this I used the flash on my camera and an iPhone torch to see
what we were doing and get better photos. One thing we changed
from the production plan is that we changed the secondary location
of the bridge to my backup location of a bench in a foresty area in
Ringwood. The reason behind this is due to the car lights on the
motorway made it difficult to get a picture I liked. One thing that
went well was that I had a good back up plan for when I changed
3. from the bridge to my backup location. This allowed for us to get
through the photoshoot smoothly and quickly. Everything went quite
well and I do not feel anything went drastically wrong during the
photoshoot.
