1. 23rd January 2022- First day of taking the images
In preparation to the photoshoot, I contacted my friend Erin Armstrong- smith and asked if
she would be okay with taking part and being the main actor in my photoshoot. I then
arranged a meeting with her to ensure she knew all the details of my ideas and we then set
a date and time for the shoot to go ahead. Once the plans were agreed with by both me and
the actor, I made her sign a contributor form to show that she had given me permission to
have her in my print adverts. I had decided on Crowther Industrial estate to shoot my
images as it was both easily accessible and created the perfect lighting for the images that I
wanted to create.
When creating these images, I used a iPhone 13 pro to take the images. Also, for these
mages I decided to keep the settings the same and add no filter to the image to allow the
images to be seen unfiltered before the editing process. However, throughout the process I
decided to experiment with the nigh mode that is on the iPhone and different features that
could have added different elements to my image. Although, after close consideration of
the images I decided that when using night mode on the phone the images were coming out
to light rather than the dark theme I was going for with these images. Here is an example of
both how the image looked normally and with night mode on:
After taking these images we started to walk along various paths which I believed fitted the
theme of my project. Unfortunately, most of the images I became unhappy with how they
looked once taken so I chose to not include them with the project. When taking these
photos, I always had a certain angle in mind, I wanted the camera to be lower to the floor
and looking up to its surroundings. With this in mind I tried to shoot in large open areas but
places that would still fit my dark/ night life theme.
For my next location we moved to Lambton rock, before doing the photoshoot I had
discussed with my actor and planned to go there as it is very quiet on a night-time and fits
my theme perfectly. The image below was the final image from the Lambton location.
