Assesses:
ability to plan and construct media products using
appropriate technical and creative skills
(AO3) – 60 marks
application of knowledge and understanding in
evaluating own work, showing how meanings and
responses are created (AO2) – 20 marks
ability to undertake, apply and present appropriate
research
(AO4) – 20 marks

Not simply a written essay
Potential of format chosen should be exploited through use
of images, audio, video and links to online resources.
May be supported by other forms such as audio or
videotaped presentations.

No formal individual essay component
In final exam, write about work undertaken
from this unit and from AS unit

Theoretical Evaluation of Production
Two compulsory questions:
1 requires you to describe and evaluate skills
development over the course of production work,
from Foundation Portfolio to Advanced Portfolio
2 asks you to identify one production and
evaluate it in relation to one theoretical concept

Question 1(a) directly requests evaluation of how
media production skills have developed from AS to A2
