3. Final Idea
Analysing a scene
from the film Baby
driver
Choose one of my favourite
scenes from Baby Driver and
research different techniques
they used to create it.
Do comparisons using
different scenes from the
film and show and explain
why I have chosen that
specific scene
Use different clips from the
movie in my video so I’m not
just using the same scene for
the full 3 minutes.
Use film terminologies to
explain to the audience
what is happening in the
scene
Use the different chase scenes
from the film such as the 2 car
chases and the foot chase
The scene I will be
focusing on is the scene
where Doc needs to make
a choice whether to help
Baby or not.
Explain the main theme of
the video and the 4
narratives, theme, twist,
choice and chance.
Whenever I’m talking about a
scene make sure that in the video
it transitions to the scene that I
am talking about
5. Mood board analysis
- The images I have gathered show the style and content of what I want to be included in my project.
- My first image is of a magnifying glass as in my video I want to take a closer look at the scenes, I have
also included a teaching board because I want my video to be more of a teaching style video. So my
audience is learning from it.
- I have included a behind the scenes image of the movie I have chosen to talk about in my project, I have
included this because I want to talk about the filming techniques used and also the director which is why
I have also included an image of the directors chair.
- My other images I have included such as the comparison image and the dialogue image, is the content I
want to include in my project, I want to compare the scenes in the movie and I also want to analyse all
the dialogue.
- My mood board represents the topics I want to talk about and the style I want to do it in, and also how I
want it to visually look.
- The tone of my mood board what I got from it is creativity, there's a lot of bright colours in there as well
which I would like to include in my video making it more visually appealing to the audience.
6. Content:
- My project I will be doing a video, I plan to do a analyses video of the movie Baby Driver.
- As the video can only be 3 minutes long I won’t be analysing the whole film, instead I will only be
analysing one scene, which I believe it to be the most perfect scene in the film. I will also include
other scenes in the movie as comparisons but I will mainly be focused on one specific scene.
- I also want to talk about the director of the film and how the film was shot, but only briefly
- The way I want to present the video is by using mostly clips from the movie throughout the video,
and also edit some of my own clips when I’m analysing it I will put text and images on the video
describing what is happening. Which will hopefully appeal to the audience more and make them
more interested in the video.
- I also wont include me being visually present in the video, as I just want the focus to be on the
movie, and I think it’s better to just have a voice over as its not distracting the viewer from the
topic.
- The way I want to structure my video is by first introducing what I’m going to be talking about,
then have scenes from Baby Driver that relate to what I am saying, I will also be using some of the
soundtrack from the film to use as background music for my video. I think this will make it more
entertaining to watch for the viewer.
- I will also try to include some comedic value to my video so it can make it more entertaining and
to also make it less serious and more enjoyable to watch.
7. Planning: What I need to plan Ideas
- Script - For my script I need to first introduce what I am
talking about and then from my research I need
to put that into my script.
- I need to keep the scrip short as I need it to fit
into the 3 minute time frame without me talking
really fast
- While writing the script I need to imagine what I
can fit into my video to get it to relate to what I
am saying
- Storyboard - I need to write my storyboard after I have written
my script, this will help because I will know what I
am saying to match with what I want to show in
the video
- I need to plan out the storyboard so it has the
duration time of how long each clip I show will
last so I don’t go over or under the given time
frame.
- I need to make sure I can get the clips needed
before I choose them in my storyboard or it wont
fit together.
-Organisational documents - I need to book out audio equipment in order to
record my voice over
- I need to have a contingency plan formed in case
anything goes wrong
- I need to create a schedule of when I am doing
production and when I am planning
8. Production Schedule:
Week Overall plan Specific tasks
1. Research and product research - Research different web series that relate to what I
want to do and compare how each are different and
their similarities. Also learn ideas from them on how
to make my own.
- Research into what I have chosen to do about and
what I want to focus on
2. Idea development and planning - Create a mood board that relates to what I want to do
for my project, also mind map ideas for my project
- Strat to plan out how I’m going to make my project as
well as a schedule to stick to
3. Pre production and Experiments - Start to write out my script and storyboard as well as
gathering footage from my chosen film that will go
into my project
- Do experiments to see what will work best in my video
before I start to produce it all together.
4. production - Start to record my voice over for my video
- Start to produce edits that will go with my video as
well that matches with what I am talking about
5. production - Finish off my production by editing all my clips
together as well as my voice over and add music to it
to finish it all off
6. Evaluation
- Evaluate all that I have produced, see what went well
and what I could of improved on for next time
9. Resources I need to create my project
- I will need an audio recorder to record my voice over with
- I need to download certain scenes from the movie Baby Driver that I can use
throughout my video.
- I will need to use Premier to edit all my clips together and to add my voice over to as
well.
- I will also need to use Adobe audition in order to make my voice over sound as clear as
possible
- When I record my audio I will need to find a quite space to do it in so there’s no
background noise going on and all you will hear is just my voice
- I might also need to use photoshop for when I edit a one of my clips I will use in my
video I had a plan to use a image of a chalk board and then put writing on it, I could
attempt to do this on premiere but I think it will work better in photoshop.
Editor's Notes
You could create a mood board of images related to your product. They could be inspirational or visually interesting. Analyse what you have gathered.
Decide on content and think about how you will structure your piece – consider the conventions of your chosen style/genre, think about the best methods to appeal to your audience.
Planning will vary depending on if you are doing a web series, podcast or a fanzine.
Web-series: A script, storyboard, organisational docs and clearance forms for your contributors/sources.
Fanzine: Content outline, visual style, pagination, organisational documents.
Podcast: Script, organisational docs, clearance forms for your contributors/sources.
Finally work out a production schedule for the project. Once you have a final proposal, begin to plan how you intend to realise your project and what you will need to create/collect.
